TCL will stop making BlackBerry smartphones from August 31, 2020

Back in 2016 BlackBerry signed a deal with China’s TCL Communication to give it exclusive rights to sell BlackBerry-branded phones in most countries after it ended all internal hardware development to focus on software development, including security and applications. Today the company has announced that starting August 31, 2020, TCL Communication will stop selling BlackBerry-branded mobile devices and has no further rights to design, manufacture or sell any new BlackBerry mobile devices. However, TCL will continue to provide support for the existing portfolio of mobile devices including customer service and warranty service until August 31, 2022. It is not clear if BlackBerry will sign a deal with some other company to sell its devices or stop making smartphones completely. Check the official statement from BlackBerry below When TCL Communication announced in December 2016 that we had entered into a brand licensing and technology support agreement with BlackBerry Limited to continue making new, modern BlackBerry smartphones available globally we were very excited and humbled to take on this challenge. Indeed our KEY Series smartphones, starting with KEYone, were highly-anticipated by the BlackBerry community. What made these devices great wasn't just the hardware developed and manufactured by TCL Communication, but also the critical security and software features provided by BlackBerry Limited to ...

Samsung Galaxy Home Mini smart home speaker said to be released on Feb 12

The Galaxy Home Mini Beta Program was announced back in August 2019. Since then it has gone under the radar, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Home that was announced back in 2018 during the Note 9 Keynote. Today however, a new leak points to the smaller Galaxy Home Mini being launched on February 12th, 2020. The Beta program, when launched in August 2019, showcased the product in the Korean Samsung Galaxy Home Mini webpage. While being limited only to Korea, the website allowed people to submit application to Samsung and, if selected, would receive the device before its launch for Beta testing. The product did make an appearance at CES 2020, where Samsungs CEO of consumer electronics division, Hyunsuk Kim hinted at a product launch for sometime in early 2020. The reasons for delay were explained to be that Samsung was designing the product as not just a Bixby speaker, but more as a control hub. Today, in a leak, Samsung put out an article (which has since been taken down) that the Galaxy Home Mini would be launched officially on February 12. The price mentioned in the post for a South Korean launch was 99,000 won (Approx. Rs. 5,926). This price tag would ...

As all countries in the world are on high alert to halt the spread of Wuhan Coronavirus, the many industries that are based in China have begun to see the effects of the outbreak. The tech industry especially has become a victim, as Ming Chi Kuo, a popular Apple analyst has lowered his shipment forecast for the iPhone due to the supply chains being hit. The “iPhone SE 2" or “iPhone 9" was rumoured to launch sometime in Q1 2020. New renders had recently popped up, showing a device based on the iPhone 8 design with TouchID and a single camera system. The device was supposed to enter mass production sometime in February with a launch in March. However, the Wuhan Coronavirus outbreak has put a wrench in these plans as the supply chains have been hit. Major cities in China like Shanghai, Beijing and Wuhan have been shut down, limiting production from factories and other facilities. In a note to TF International Securities, Ming Chi Kuo has reduced his iPhone shipment forecast by 10 percent to 36-40 million units. He also noted that the outbreak has possibly caused a decline of 50-60% YoY in the Chinese market during the Chinese New ...

Noise launched the Shots NEO, the company’s latest wireless earbuds recently. It is compact, features Bluetooth 5.0, has touch controls and promises over 6 hours of playback. After using it for a couple of weeks, here is the review of the Bluetooth headset. Box Contents Noise Shots Neo in Icy White color Different set of ear tips (Small, Medium and Large) Micro USB Cable Quick start guide Design and Build Quality Starting with the design, the Noise Shots Neo has a familiar design we had seen in most budget headsets. Total weight of the case with the earbuds are about 31.6 grams, and the earbuds weigh about 4.6 grams. Even through the headset it is made of plastic, it looks decent, however the quality of the case could have been better since the shiny body is prone to scratches. The earbuds have LED lights that glow in blue, while the light on the case also glows in blue. There are touch controls on both the earbuds that lets you play or pause music, go to previous or next song, control volume, launch voice assistant and also accept or reject calls.
