MediaTek Helio G80 Octa-Core SoC with HyperEngine Game Technology announced

MediaTek has announced Helio G80 in the ‘G series’, which is an enhanced version of the G70 series which was announced last month. It is targeted at budget and mid-range gaming smartphones and features MediaTek’s HyperEngine game technology to boost the mobile gaming experience. It packs dual ARM Cortex-A75 and hexa Cortex-A55 CPUs with the Arm Mali — G52 2EEMC2 with speeds of up to 950MHz and is based on 12nm TSMC FinFET technology. Similar to the G70, the G80 also lacks dedicated APU, which the Helio G90 series have.
