5 reasons why the OnePlus 7 Pro display has tipped the scales in the brand’s favour

Marking a shift in strategy with OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus has set a classic example of how a proper display can enhance the whole experience of using a smartphone. The display remains a key element and determines how good something looks - Be it readability, photos, videos and others. For the first time, OnePlus effectively managed to design an uninterrupted all-screen experience on a phone — it lived up to the hype that's been built around it. OPPO introduces Under-Screen Camera technology for notch-less smartphones

After teasing it earlier this month, OPPO today introduced its Under-Screen Camera technology for smartphones at its MWC Shanghai event. This uses a customized camera module, an enhanced translucent panel material combined with advanced processing algorithms to take images without a notch or motorized camera, while keeping the body thin. Normally, the light passing through the screen will be lost. Therefore, the actual light received by the camera under the screen is less than half, which makes the image captured to lose color and details. To overcome this OPPO has used improved white balance, HDR and AI defog for 'multi-algorithm optimization' to ensure the best picture quality. It will support several camera functions including smart beauty and filters in the future, said the company, however it didn't say when we can expect the first phone with this technology. Netflix is testing pop-out floating video player on desktop

Video on demand service Netflix introduced new additions like weekly subscription plans, high-quality audio for TV viewers and more. Now, the company has been spotted testing a new pop-out floating player for desktop that will allow users to stream videos in a picture-in-picture mode on their computer. The pop-up player will hover as a small floating box above other windows and users can simply click the small icon on the bottom to activate it. It is resizable and can be positioned wherever the user likes it to be, but subtitles don't work with this feature as of now. The picture-in-picture mode is available on iOS and Android and Netflix could easily integrate the feature, but the company instead is choosing to develop its own feature in part likely for copyright protection. As of now, only a few users were able to use this feature in desktop as it is still under internal testing and Netflix is expected to make this feature available to all users. Source
