Xiaomi Mi 5th Anniversary sale in India in July – New Mi Bluetooth headsets, Mi Rechargeable LED Lamp, super fast charger and more

Ahead of Xiaomi's 5th Mi anniversary sale next month, Xiaomi has started teasing its new product launches on mi.com. The company today launched its new Mi Beard Trimmer, but will launch Mi Rechargeable LED Lamp, Mi truck Builder for kids, two new Bluetooth headsets and a fast charger in India in coming weeks. Based on the teaser, one headset should be Mi Bluetooth Neckband Earphones Basic 35 gram light-weight body, easy controls on the headset and up to 7 hours of battery life with full charge in 1 hour. The other headset should be Mi Bluetooth Foldable Headset with 40mm driver, AptX support, touch controls, 400mAh battery with up to 10 hours of battery life. The Mi Rechargeable Lamp offers 4500k, 3200k and 2600k color temperature options with 10 lumens brightness and a 2000mAh battery with micro USB port so it can be powered using a power bank as well. On a single charge it offers up to 4 hours of battery life at maximum brightness, up to 7 hours at medium brightness, and up to 40 hours in minimum brightness. OnePlus 6 and 6T OxygenOS beta update brings FPS option to Screen Recorder, stability improvements and more

OnePlus has released OxygenOS open beta update 13 for the OnePlus 6T and beta 21 for the OnePlus 6 that brings several improvements, including FPS option (15, 24 or 30 fps) to Screen Recorder that was introduced with a beta update last month.  The update also improves weather app and phone app optimizations. The company is yet to roll out DC Dimming feature for the OnePlus 6 series that was promised last month. The latest OxygenOS beta update for the OnePlus 6 and 6T also includes the latest Android security patch for June, 2019. Samsung Galaxy M40 goes on open sale in India

Samsung launched the Galaxy M40 smartphone earlier this month in India and the smartphone went on sale starting June 19th in flash sales via Amazon.in. Today, Samsung has officially announced that the Galaxy M40 will now be available on open sale along with launch offers from Airtel, Vodafone Idea and Jio. The smartphone will be available to purchase on open sale via Amazon.in and Samsung's online store. Users will now be able to purchase the Galaxy M40 anytime from these online e-retailers. To recall, the Galaxy M40 has a 6.3-inch Full HD+  Infinity-O  LCD screen with 91.8% screen-to-body ratio,  is powered by Octa-Core Snapdragon 675 with 6GB of RAM, runs Android Pie with Samsung One UI, features a 32-megapixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, secondary 5-megapixel camera for portrait shots and an 8-megapixel 123° ultra wide-angle lens. It also has a  16-megapixel front camera. It uses screen sound technology that uses the phone’s screen as an earpiece and the smartphone is backed up a 3500mAh battery with 15W fast charging.

Netflix is testing pop-out floating video player on desktop

Video on demand service Netflix introduced new additions like weekly subscription plans, high-quality audio for TV viewers and more. Now, the company has been spotted testing a new pop-out floating player for desktop that will allow users to stream videos in a picture-in-picture mode on their computer. The pop-up player will hover as a small floating box above other windows and users can simply click the small icon on the bottom to activate it. It is resizable and can be positioned wherever the user likes it to be, but subtitles don't work with this feature as of now. The picture-in-picture mode is available on iOS and Android and Netflix could easily integrate the feature, but the company instead is choosing to develop its own feature in part likely for copyright protection. As of now, only a few users were able to use this feature in desktop as it is still under internal testing and Netflix is expected to make this feature available to all users. Source

RHA, the brand known for its premium range of audio products like TrueConnect truly wireless water-resistant buds, MA750, etc has today launched its new T20 wireless earphones in India. This is the wireless variant of the RHA T20 launched recently and comes with DualCoil driver, neckband design, stainless-steel housings and more. RHA T20 features a neckband design, weighs 8g and comes with injection-molded, detachable stainless-steel housings giving it a contoured shape. It comes with RHA's 10mm DualCoil driver wherein the two independent voice coils produce the part of the frequency range for refined, high-resolution audio and the company says that they have tuned the driver for optimal performance with the wireless and wired connections. The T20 earphones also come with three pairs of interchangeable tuning filters where users can customize the sound the way they prefer it. HMD Global CMO Pekka Rantala quits to join ePass mobile payments company

HMD Global, the exclusive global licensee of the Nokia brand for mobile phones and tablet, appointed Pekka Rantala as their Chief Marketing Officer back in 2016. Almost after 3 years, he has resigned from the company and will be joining ePass mobile payments company soon. HMD Global is yet to officially make the announcement, but according to a press release from ePass which is a mobile payment company, Pekka Rantala will join it as the CEO and one of its owner starting October 2019. He has mentioned that his interest in entrepreneurship made him take the decision of quitting HMD Global to join ePass. He was the CEO of Rovio Entertainment prior to joining HMD and spent seventeen years in Nokia's mobile phone business. Later, he left Nokia as the worldwide leader of Global marketing. According to reports, HMD Global hasn't done well with their marketing strategy and the change in leadership might make things better. Source
