Google Lens real-time detection, redesigned UI and more now rolling out

Google at the I/O 2018 showcased a bunch of new features including the real-time detection which is the ability to identify and add interactive elements to objects that you want information about. This new feature is now rolling out along with a redesigned interface with white U.I. Other visual changes include a new rounded card at the bottom of the screen replacing the black overlay interface. The new White U.I which on pulling up provides examples and instructions on how to use Lens. It looks like Google has tweaked the "Remember this" or "Import to Keep" shortcuts in Lens, as the functionality doesn't appear to be present in the new updated interface. The real-time detection now shows a button on the item which on tapping will present more information about it. This new behavior replaces the good old stop and taps objects in the viewfinder before Lens can recognize it as an object that is capable of providing information. Now it can detect more than just one object if it has identified more than one item as capable of providing information in the scene. Xiaomi Mi Credit offers instant personal loans of up to Rs. 1,00,000

Xiaomi has announced Mi Credit service in partnership with KreditBee for Xiaomi users with MIUI. KreditBee is offering loans from Rs. 1,000 up to Rs. 100,000, and is aimed at young professionals. "The loan can be initiated in less than 10 minutes with a simple KYC verification such as Aadhaar card and PAN card, tenure between 15 days to 90 days with interest rate of 3% per month," says Xiaomi. It also said that all verification and user information input is done on partner platforms, with Mi Credit currently only listing all agents. Facebook improves two-factor authentication, now supports Google Authenticator and Duo Security

Facebook two-factor authentication is the best practice to secure your account from being vulnerable to any breaches. The company so far used the phone number for authentication is now changing the process and has streamlined the setup flow that guides you through the process. The new authentication doesn't require your phone number anymore. Instead, it will now rely on third-party authentication apps like Google Authenticator and Duo Security on both desktop and mobile, and phone number is no longer mandatory. To turn on two-factor authentication, you can go to account settings and click the “Security and Login” tab. The new two-factor authentication is already rolling out on both mobile and desktop. Except for the Chromebooks, all these products are powered by the Windows 10. The Acer Swift 5 sports a 15.6-inches Full HD display with narrow bezels; 87.6% screen-to-body ratio, maximizing the viewing experience. It is powered by the latest Intel Core processors and packs up to 1TB of SSD storage and up to 16 GB of DDR4 memory. Xiaomi smartphones with 5.45-inch 18:9 display, single / dual-rear cameras, Android 8.1 get certified, could be Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A

Xiaomi M1804C3CC, M1804C3DE and M1804C3CE models have been certified by TENAA in China. This reveals  a 5.45-inch HD+ screen, Android 8.1 (Oreo) and 5-megapixel front camera for these smartphones. The M1804C3DE model has dual rear cameras and a fingerprint sensor on the back, so it could be Redmi 6, and the other model without a fingerprint sensor and single rear camera could be Redmi 6A. Xiaomi releases Oreo-based kernel source for Redmi Note 5 Pro

Xiaomi India launched Redmi Note 5 Pro in February this year, later in March it was launched as Redmi Note 5 in China with few changes under the hood but Redmi Note 5 Pro and Redmi Note 5 (China variant) share the same codename ‘whyred’. Redmi Note 5 (China variant) was launched with Android Oreo 8.1 based MIUI ROM. Xiaomi official Jai Mani already confirmed Android Oreo update for Redmi Note 5 Pro but it is yet to receive the update. Earlier this week it rolled out the Oreo update for some users in India, however it was pulled quickly since early version was released accidentally. Now, Xiaomi has released kernel sources for Redmi Note 5 Pro and kernel sources are based on Android Oreo. Last month, Xiaomi announced a price hike of Rs. 1000 on Redmi Note 5 Pro (4GB+64GB variant) due to 10% import tax imposed by the government and said that it will produce a million units of Redmi Note 5 Pro every month. Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 10nm Mobile Platform brings multi-core AI Engine, X15 LTE modem, 4K HDR playback to mid-range smartphones

Qualcomm just introduced Snapdragon 710 Mobile Platform, the company's first SoC in the new 700 series. It is built on power-efficient 10nm process technology based on new Kryo 360 architecture, built on ARM Cortex technology. This promises 2X overall performance improvements in AI applications, up to a 20% overall uplift in performance, 25% faster web browsing and 15% faster app launch times, compared to the Snapdragon 660, thanks to new dual performance + hexa efficient custom Kryo cores. It comes with new 14-bit Qualcomm Spectra 250 ISP for improved low light photography, noise reduction, fast autofocus, image stabilization, smooth zoom, real-time bokeh effects and Face ID / Unlock with active depth sensing. It also supports 4K HDR playback for viewing HDR videos and apps, for the first time outside the premium 800-tier.
