Xiaomi schedules an event on January 10 to introduce a new Redmi smartphone with 48MP camera

Xiaomi has scheduled an event in China on January 10th to launch a new smartphone. The invite has 4800 written upside down hinting at a 48MP camera phone that was teased by Xiaomi President Lin Bin in an image last month. The image showed a large sensor along with dual LED flash. Another teaser hints at a large sensor and 3x zoom. Honor already introduced its V20 smartphone with a 48-megapixel camera last week. This will likely come with the same Sony IMX586 1/2-type (8.0 mm diagonal) sensor. It could be powered by Snapdragon 675 11nm Mobile Platform since Xiaomi has already confirmed that it will launch Snapdragon 675-powered smartphone this year.
