Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will get Global stable Android 8.1 Oreo update this week

Update - August 30: After beta update recently, Xiaomi has finally announced  that it will roll out MIUI Global Stable ROM based on Android 8.1 (Oreo) update later this week. It also said that it will include Face unlocking feature, and it will work for users in Indonesia, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam with the update, while other countries will get it later. The update will also include update camera algorithms to improve the image quality. Earlier: Xiaomi announced Redmi Note 5 along with Redmi Note 5 Pro running on MIUI 9.2 based on Android 7.1 (Nougat) in India back in February. Redmi Note 5 Pro has been the talk of the town since its launch, but Redmi Note 5 (Also called Redmi 5 Plus in global markets including China) is not so popular as compared to Redmi Note 5 Pro. Even the company focused more on Redmi Note 5 Pro as company spokesperson confirmed Android Oreo 8.1 update for Redmi Note 5 Pro but didn’t mention anything regarding Redmi Note 5 update.
