Apple reports $22.2 billion profit on $91.8 billion revenue in FY Q1 2020, biggest quarter ever

Apple has reported quarterly revenue of $91.8 billion, up 8.89% over last year with a net profit of $22.2 billion, up 11.1% YoY, fueled by iPhone and earnings per diluted share of $4.18 for the financial year Q1 2020 that ended December 28, 2019. During earnings call Tim Cook said that it was Apple's biggest quarter ever, which set new all-time records in both revenue and earnings. "Geographically, we set all-time records in the Americas, Europe and rest of Asia Specific and saw Greater China return to growth," said the CEO. iPhone revenue in the December quarter was $56 billion, up 8% over a year ago, thanks to the exceptional demand for the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.  iPhone 11 was top-selling model every week during the December quarter and the three new models were three most popular iPhones. iPhone saw double-digit growth in many developed markets, including the U.S., the UK, France and Singapore, and also grew double digits in emerging markets led by strong performances in Brazil, Mainland China, India, Thailand, and Turkey. Nokia 400 4G (TA-1208) feature phone with proprietary GAFP OS surfaces, could launch in India soon

The phone market is filled with smartphones lately and OEMs are coming up with smartphones almost every other day, with less focus on feature phones. Although there has been a rise of smartphones launching frequently, there is a fair share of feature phone users. On similar lines, brands like Nokia are coming up with feature phones too with 4G support. After a series of 4G feature phones, now, Nokia 400 TA-1208 with 4G support has surfaced with key details. According to the Bluetooth certification, Nokia 400 4G feature phone will feature Bluetooth 4.2 and have support for LTE. It is said to be powered by Unisoc processor and feature the Wi-Fi component SC234X. Furthermore, it is said to be running GAFP operating system and this seems to be a version of Android OS for feature phones. There is not much information known regarding the specifications, but the phone (TA-1208) has appeared on the BIS website. So, this suggests that HMD Global could launch this phone soon in India. Google is shutting down App Maker due to low usage

Google App Maker was officially launched in 2018 when it was taken out of beta as a low-code application development environment. However, it seems like it did not pick up enough users as Google has announced it is shutting down App Maker due to low usage by January 19, 2021. The App Maker was originally launched in 2016 as a beta and was taken out of it in 2018. It was designed to be a low code, drag and drop app building environment. However, the interest in simple app building solutions have died over the years as Google has decided to shut down the service due to low usage. For the shut down, Google has announced a timeline that is listed below: Starting today, existing apps continue to work. Though App Maker is no longer under active development, the service will continue to be maintained. Starting April 15, 2020, users will no longer be able to create new App Maker apps.
