Redmi 8 with 6.2-inch display, dual rear cameras, 5000mAh battery launching in India soon

Redmi 8 with model number M1908C3IC got certified by TENAA in China last month which revealed its specifications. At the end of Redmi 8A online launch, Xiaomi India head and VP Manu Jain asks "But, What about the Redmi 8, weren't we supposed to launch it today?" He gets a response saying that it's for the next launch. May be we can expect the details about the Redmi Note 8 series at the Redmi 8 launch since those are also expected in October. Based on earlier rumors, the phone will feature a 6.26-inch HD+ Dot Notch screen, feature a 12-megapixel rear camera, which could be the same Sony IMX363 sensor, 1.4μm pixel size, f/1.9 aperture sensor Dual PD auto focus featured in the Redmi 8A, and also adds 5-megapixel depth sensor. Processor details are not know yet, but it will pack the same 5000mAh  battery with 18W fast charging. This is also said to feature a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Xiaomi's Redmi brand just launched the Redmi 8A, the company's latest budget smartphone in India, as it had promised. It has a 6.22-inch HD+ 19:9 aspect ratio display with Dot Notch and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 439 SoC with up to 3GB RAM and runs Android Pie with MIUI 10 on top. It has a 12-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. The phone doesn't have a fingerprint sensor, but comes with face unlock. Xiaomi Redmi Y2 gets Android 9.0 Pie-based MIUI Global Stable ROM [Update: Roll out resumes]

Update: September 24, 2019 - Xiaomi has resumed roll out after it was paused recently. This has new 10.3.5.0 build number and includes Android security patch for September, 2019. Those who had already downloaded it previously, will not receive this update, said the company. Some are getting a 178MB update with just the security patch. Earlier: Xiaomi launched the Redmi Y2 in India running MIUI 9.5 on top of Android 8.1 (Oreo) and later rolled out MIUI 10 update back in September 2018. In February the company started recruiting Beta testers for testing Android Pie based MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM for various devices including Redmi Y2 but later changed the plan and announced that Android Pie based MIUI Global Stable ROM for Redmi Y2/S2 will be released around June. OnePlus 7T will be the first phone to run Android 10 with Google services out of the box

Since OnePlus started rolling out Android 10 stable update for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro smartphones last week, it was given that the OnePlus 7T will run Android 10.
