Nokia TA-1157 Android One Smartphone with dual rear cameras passes through the FCC

Nokia TA-1157, a new smartphone has passed through the FCC revealing dual rear cameras, dimensions and more specifications. The mid-range smartphone will come in 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 2GB RAM with 16GB storage versions, according to the certification. It also reveals 148.95 mm x 71.3 mm dimensions and it will mesasure 131mm diagonally, which could mean that it could feature about 5.2-inch screen, probably with HD+ resolution. It also reveals a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a 3000mAh battery. This could be the Nokia 3.2 (2019), successor of last year's Nokia 3.1. It will likely run Android 9.0 (Pie) out of the box, but it is not clear if the company will stick to MediaTek SoC or move to Snapdragon since it moved from Snapdragon 430 in the Nokia 3 to MediaTek MT6750N in Nokia 3.1. Samsung Galaxy M20 Camera Samples

Samsung launched the Galaxy M20 smartphone earlier this week. We already brought you the first impressions and benchmarks of the smartphone, here we have the camera samples. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with 1/3.1" Samsung S5K3L6 ISOCELL Fast sensor, 1.12μm pixel size and f/1.9 aperture, PDAF along with a 5-megapixel 120-degree ultra-wide lens lens with f/2.2 aperture. It has an 8-megapixel camera on the front with f/2.2 aperture. Since this comes with an 120° Ultra Wide Lens, you can switch between the normal 78-degree Field Of View main camera and 120-degree Field Of View wide-angle camera easily. Even though there is Live Focus, this uses software to blur the background in the images since the wide-angle sensor cannot be used for it. The software blur works only on the face, and not for objects. Unlike Samsung phones with depth sensor, this doesn't let you adjust the bokeh effect before or after the shot. There is selfie portrait option for the front camera that also uses software to blur the background. Huawei schedules MWC 2019 event for February 24 to introduce foldable 5G smartphone

Huawei has finally sent out invites for its Mobile World Congress (MWC) event in Barcelona on February 24th where it will introduce its foldable smartphone to take on Samsung's foldable smartphone  that is set to arrive few days earlier. Last week at its pre-MWC and 5G event, Huawei confirmed that it will its 5G smartphones powered by Balong 5000 will be released at the MWC, so the foldable phone will likely come with 5G. Earlier rumors said that it will feature an 8-inch flexible display when unfolded and will have a 5-inch display when folded. Huawei has been working on its foldable smartphone since 2017. Last year a patent surfaced on WIPO revealing a hinge design with a small gap, but with a single display, unlike the ZTE Axon M. The Huawei MWC 2019 event on February 24th starts at 2PM CET (6:30 PM IST). We should know more details in the coming weeks.

Nokia 9 PureView with penta rear cameras to be announced on Feb 24 at MWC 2019 [Update: Official invite]

Update - February 1, 2019: HMD Global has started sending out invites for its MWC event on February 24th in Barcelona. The event starts at 4PM CET (8:30 PM IST). Earlier: HMD Global at the MWC 2019 event on February 24th is expected to introduce its flagship Nokia 9 PureView smartphone with penta rear cameras. Uber adds public transit to expand transportation beyond rides

Uber has announced it is rolling out its first-ever integration with public transit in partnership with the Regional Transportation District (RTD). Uber riders in Denver can now plan their transit journey with real-time information and end-to-end directions right in the Uber app. Once a rider enters their destination, they’ll see “Transit” next to other available transportation options in their city. Once selected, they’ll be able to view available transit routes that will get them to their destination. It will also show real-time departure and arrival times and receive walking directions to/from the transit stations. In the coming days, riders will also be able to purchase and use RTD tickets through the Uber app. Through its partnerships with Moovit, Uber says that the transit real-time data and route planning provider and Masabi, a SaaS ticketing and payments platform, riders will be able to see transit information, and book tickets in more cities soon. Samsung Foldable phone shows up in promo video

Samsung showcased its foldable smartphone at its developer’s conference in San Francisco back in November. Today, in a official promo video that was pully quickly, the phone appeared briefly, showing display on the outside and a large foldable screen on the inside.  As revealed at its developer's conference last year, the foldable will sport a 7.3-inch (1536 x 2152 pixels) display when it’s open, to offer a tablet-like viewing experience and when folded, it sports a 4.6-inch (840 x 1960) 21:9 aspect ratio display on the outside. The display on the outside looks bigger in the video. Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10+ with in-display front-camera, triple rear cameras, in-screen fingerprint sensor surface in renders

Samsung is set to introduce the Galaxy S10 series flagships later this month and with the launch inching closer, rumors and leaks continue to grow. This time around, we are getting to see the S10 and S10+ flagships in their full glory. Despite the relatively narrow bezels, there's still a sizeable chin at the bottom of the display.  With Samsung placing the front-camera within the display, there's more screen real-estate on the top side. The Galaxy S10 will have a single sensor on the front camera, while the more expensive and larger Galaxy S10 + has two cameras in a pill-shaped cutout. However, on the back, all the models are identical with three-rear cameras arranged horizontally. There's no fingerprint sensor on the back as they are now moved to within the display. Samsung continued to install a Bixby button, which is again located below the volume rocker. Amazon India pulls products from Cloudtail, Appario as new FDI norms come into effect

India's new E-commerce FDI norms comes into effect today, February 1st and this will impact Amazon's pricing, product selection, and convenience for both customers and sellers. Amazon's growth has slowed down internationally in the December quarter, comprising of Diwali sales and holiday sales across international markets.  The company's International net sales grew by 15% to $20.83 billion during the quarter, as compared to a 29% growth in the year-ago period. The company's international sales had only seen a growth of 13% in the September quarter. However, the company was able to narrow its International losses by 30% to $642 million for the quarter, from $919 million in the corresponding quarter last year. The company forecasts an overall net sales of between $56 billion and $60 billion for the first quarter for India. The company's revenues from its subscription services; the Amazon Prime subscription service, grew by 25% to $3.96 billion while Amazon's "other" category, that includes its advertising business, increased by 95% to $3.4 billion. Nintendo, LINE partner to launch Dr Mario World for Android and iOS later this year

Nintendo and LINE Corporation have signed a partnership where both the companies will jointly develop a new game for smart devices. Nintendo and LINE will co-develop and jointly operate a new action puzzle game featuring Dr. Mario titled Dr. Mario.  Both the companies are targeting an early summer 2019 global release including markets like Japan, United States. Along with Nintendo and LINE, NHN Entertainment, which has released and operated various online and mobile games, will also take part in the development and operation of Dr. Mario World. The game would be free-to-download, but with in-app purchases and would be released for both iOS and Android. Initially, the game would be launched in approximately 60 regions including Japan and the United States Nintendo in a blog post said: Nintendo continues to introduce unique entertainment products and characters like Mario to the world, establishing itself as a globally recognized brand that represents video game culture in the home entertainment industry. Telegram V5.3 update brings motion and blur effects to backgrounds

Telegram is gaining a new update bringing with it chat background where you can now search the web for wallpapers, add effects and then share your backgrounds with friends via links. Telegram backgrounds now support motion and blur effects. You can also set any color as your background, apply a pattern and more.  Just like before, you can set any photo from your gallery as your chat background. On Android, you can add some extra effects to the built-in photo editor. As said, you can also share the custom designed background via a link with your friends. Telegram has also added a new background to already existing collection. There's a new background search option where you can find your wallpaper based on keywords or color and then set it in just a few taps. In a blog post Telegram said: No chat can be dull if you have a really cool chat background. Today's update will ensure you get one.
