Snapchat has quite a few interesting Lens under its kitty including its body-tracking ones that can follow you around. Today the company is rolling out yet another lens, in fact, it is the first Lens that would react to sound. It is a cute animal mask overlay for your face whose eyes move based on the sounds it hears. Though it might sound not as interesting as the sky whale Lens that uses sky segmentation technology, the company says that this is first among many that it is planning on rolling out in the coming days. The new Lens ears pulse and glow and has eyes that move based on the sounds it hears. Snapchat's new Lens is already available, and you can head over to the app and check out the carousel to see if you have the lens that reacts to sound. Source, Image via

Apple’s 2019 iPhone with triple-rear cameras said to feature 3D sensing and enhanced zoom

Earlier this month there were reports that Apple might be launching an iPhone model with triple rear cameras. Now a new report from Taiwanese 'Economic Daily News' claims that the iPhone model said to feature 3D Sensing and enhanced zoom, citing a research note from Deutsche Securities analyst Jialin Lu.  Analyst Jialin Lu says that the triple-lens camera system will enable advanced 3D sensing via stereoscopic vision, while the two of the sensors will be able to capture images of a single object from different angles. interestingly, it will also feature a triangulation method would then be used to obtain the distance between the iPhone and the object. The rear camera's 3D sensing tech will be used for augmented reality purposes. This report falls in line with last year's finding which said that Apple said to be working on the rear-facing 3D sensor for 2019 iPhone.  3D sensing will be using the time-of-flight technology that calculates the time it takes for a laser to scan the surrounding objects to create a three-dimensional picture of the environment. However, Lu says he believes that Apple will instead use the triple-lens approach for the rear camera system and the third lens would likely have a longer focal length for enhanced zoom capabilities. This enhanced zoom ...

Apple’s 2019 iPhones said to adopt OLED display panels

Apple is said to launch three new iPhone models later this year in September. Earlier report said that two out of the three models; the iPhone X 2nd generation and iPhone X Plus will embrace the OLED displays, while the low-cost 6.1-inch model will feature an iPhone X style full-screen design, but with LCD display rather than OLED display.  According to a new report from South Korea's ET News, Apple is said to make a complete transition to OLED in 2019, falling in line with the earlier reports. According to an official from Apple, the company has recently started planning for the 2019 iPhone models and has decided to adopt the OLED panels for all the three models. The OLED used in the iPhone X is a low-temperature polysilicon (LTPS) LCD Quality. Another Apple official said that Apple might stick to LCD display if there are more than three iPhone models scheduled for 2019 launch. Though this isn't the first time we hear this report, it looks like the financial markets are taking this specific rumor fairly seriously. Japan Display who is currently the LCD display supplier for the iPhone might have to see a setback if Apple indeed goes the OLED route considering the lack of ...

Sony WI SP500 Wireless In-ear Sports Headphones Review

Sony has always had a pretty robust portfolio of audio products that target the sports or athletic use segment. The WI SP500 is one such product that was introduced recently. With an interesting design that sits somewhere between an old-school Bluetooth headset and the air pods but with a cable running between the two, the SP500 are earbuds with open-type drivers. Right then, on to the review. Design & Connectivity At first glance, the WI SP500 is pretty awkward to look at. The design of the earbud consists of a long cylindrical tube finished in rigid plastic. The entire finish is pretty grippy keeping in line with the sports aesthetic. Then there's the earbud itself with a silicon tip that has a protruding tip to help maintain a good fit. There's a cable connecting the two earbuds since these aren't truly wireless models. All the controls are located on the right earbud on the SP500. The power on and pairing button is located under the lower edge while on the side is a volume up and down button that doubles up as a way to jump forward or backward in the playlist. There's even an LED above the volume controls for visual feedback. The ...
