CamScanner app removed from Google Play Store after it was found loaded with Malware

CamScanner, the app that turns your phone into a scanner for intelligent document management is in the news today as Kaspersky researchers recently found malware in the app that could potentially affect devices. The app has now been removed from the Google Play Store. According to a report from Kaspersky researchers, CamScanner app contained a 'Trojan Dropper' module known as 'Trojan-Dropper.AndroidOS.Necro.n' and the researchers have observed this module in some apps preinstalled on Chinese smartphones. The purpose of Trojan Droppers is to install malicious code on a victim's device and the module extracts and runs another malicious module from an encrypted file that is included in the app’s resources. This might start showing intrusive ads to users inside the app and drive them to sign up for paid subscriptions. The latest update of CamScanner does not contain this malicious code, but the versions of the app vary for different devices. Also, some of the users already spotted malicious behaviour in CamScanner app and posted reviews in the Play Store warning users not to install this app. Based on the findings and reportings from Kaspersky, the app has now been removed from the Google Play Store. Vivo Z1X with in-display fingerprint scanner, triple rear cameras launching in India on September 6

After the launch of Z1Pro last month, Vivo just announced that it will launch Z1x, another mid-range smartphone in India on September 6th on Flipkart. The official teaser image confirms in-display fingerprint scanner, so it should have an AMOLED screen, and the image shows a waterdrop notch, compared to punch hold screen on the Z1Pro. Another image confirms USB Type-C port, after several phones including the V15 series and the latest Z1Pro with a micro USB port. Another teaser image confirms Snapdragon SoC, so there are chances it might retain the Snapdragon 712  SoC from the Z1Pro or faster Snapdragon SoC. Realme Q series smartphones with quad rear cameras to be announced on September 5

After several teasers, realme today confirmed that it will introduce new 'Q series' smartphones in China on September 5th. The company also confirmed that the phones will feature quad rear cameras. The realme 5 Pro that was launched in India earlier this month already got certified by TENAA in China, so we can expect the same phone in the Q Series and probably the realme 5 as well, however it is not clear if we can expect a new phone for China. After realme China CMO Xu Qi Chase posted a photo of the 64MP quad camera phone, the company showcased the realme XT smartphone in China at an event ahead of India launch in September, but some reports say that it will bring the phone to China later. realme launched the realme X and realme X lite smartphones in China back in May before the realme X was launched in India in July. realme said that it will share new information about the realme Q series phones in the coming days before the launch next Thursday.
