Apple said to introduce new low-cost iPads and education software at March 27 event

It is already known that Apple has scheduled a ‘creative education’ event on March 27th, and today we are learning that the company is planning to launch a new low-cost iPads and education software, according a new report from Bloomberg. The event scheduled for early next week marks the first time Apple is holding a product launch aimed at education since 2012. The company will show off its new version of its cheapest iPad that should appeal to the education market. Furthermore, the company will also introduce a new software for the classroom. It looks like Apple is going back to the roots as the company's Steve Jobs made schools a priority for Apple during its early days. With Apple focusing on mass-market and higher-margin products in recent years, Google and Microsoft have been gaining success in the classrooms. Though the educational technology market generated $17.7 billion in revenue in 2017, Apple accounted just for 17% of shipments from kindergarten through high school. Google's Chromebooks accounted for 60% and Windows PCs were at 22%. Though there were reports about a low-cost MacBook Air, we're pretty sure that it might not be seeing a light in the day at the education even on 27th. Though Apple is currently ...

Apple said to begin trial production of 2018 iPhones in Q2 to avoid delays

According to latest report from Digitimes, Apple is expected to start trial production of 2018 iPhones in Q2 to avoid delay which was caused by the initial low yield rates in the production of 3D sensor modules for the iPhone X last year. The kick-start will help with delivery schedules for 2018 iPhone devices so that they will rekindle its smartphone momentum. The push ahead the delivery schedules for the 2018 iPhones will help Apple have more stock during the time of pre-orders. The source further claim that the sales of the iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and X have been lower than expected. So, the early push in the production will help Apple get back in the game.  Apple's supply chain partners said to be "generally more optimistic" about order prospects this year. If Apple could start delivering new iPhone series early in the third quarter, the component makers will see their revenues start moving upward in the second quarter of 2018. Apple is expected to launch two OLED-based iPhones (5.85-inch and 6.45-inch) and a 6.1-inch low-cost LCD model with Face ID, and no wireless charging. If these reports are to be trusted, it should be easier to get our hands on with the new iPhones later ...

Snapchat Map Explorer will make it easier to find friends

Snapchat has introduced the new Maps Explore that will make it easier to find friends who are hanging out without you. Snapchat says that the Explore will update automatically when friends take a road trip, fly someplace new like visiting a landmark or attend a big festival, and more. With just a single tap, you can start a new conversation, and you will also get updates for other moments like breaking news, events, and trends that you might want to see. However, the downside to this is that Explore will only include updates from the friends who are sharing their location with you on Snap Map. Sharing the location on Snap Map is opt-in. So, if you have never visited Snap Map before or are in Ghost Mode today, your friends won’t be able to see your location. The Snap Map Explorer feature will be rolling out globally over the next few weeks to both Android and iOS. Source
