Google has introduced Compose Actions which is a new channel for integrating your other tools with Gmail. This feature makes it easy to add links and attachments from apps like Box, Dropbox, Atlassian’s Jira, and Egnyte to any Gmail message while you are drafting it.  Gmail Add-ons with compose actions can be installed from the G Suite Marketplace. Like all other Gmail Add-ons, G Suite admins can install them for their entire domain or add them to their whitelist. Google introduced this feature at the 'Google Cloud Next ‘18' and is now making it generally available to everyone. The integration allows the users to save valuable time by letting them quickly attach files to emails and save email attachments to their preferred service, all within Gmail. The moment you authorize action with the feature, they will work in Gmail across mobile and web. Google Titan M chip for Pixel 3 offers bootloader security, lock screen protection and on-device disk encryption

Google with this year's Pixel 3 is advancing the level of security it offers for its users. It introduced a new Titan M which is an enterprise-grade security chip custom built for Pixel 3 to secure your most sensitive on-device data and operating system. Google says that it took the best features from the Titan chip used in Google Cloud data centers and tailored it for mobile. To protect Android from outside tampering, Google has integrated the Titan M into Verified Boot. Titan M helps the bootloader to make sure that you’re running the right version of Android. Specifically, Titan M stores the last known safe Android version and prevents “bad actors” from moving your device back to run on an older, potentially vulnerable, version of Android behind your back. Titan M also prevents attackers from attempting to unlock the bootloader. Pixel 3 also uses Titan M to verify your lock screen passcode. It makes the process of guessing multiple password combinations harder by limiting the number of login attempts. Only upon successful verification of your passcode will Titan M allow for decryption. Additionally, the secure flash and fully independent computation of Titan M makes it harder for an attacker to tamper to gain the ...

Amazon Alexa Whisper Mode now rolling to Echo devices

Amazon's Alexa is getting a new Whisper mode feature which is rolling to users in the USA and works in U.S English language. As the name suggests, it is particularly useful during bedtime or nighttime scenarios, when you want to keep the room as quiet as possible.  Amazon seems to be constantly working on bringing new features to Alexa and at the Amazon's September event, the company showcased a smart- home feature for Echo devices called “Alexa Guard.” This sound-detection technology will allow Alexa to recognize smoke alarm, carbon monoxide alarms, and the sounds of glass breaking. Both the Alexa guard and Whisper Mode use a machine-learning network known as a long short-term memory. The incoming audio signals are broken into ultrashort snippets, and the long short-term memory network processes them in order. The key factor here would the judgment about preceding snippets as to whether the new snippet is a whisper or alarm. In this way, it can learn systematic relationships between segments of an audio signal that are separated in time. Amazon recently patented tech that would allow Alexa to tell if you’re sick, then offer to sell you meds – like cough drops. The system could also detect emotion, like joy, anger or sorrow. As for ...
