Realme Band Unboxing and First Impressions
Last month Madhav Seth, CEO of realme, teased their entry into the wearables market with a fitness band. Yesterday at a launch event, realme introduced the realme Band, which claims to be the cheapest fitness band that comes with a heart-rate sensor. We got a chance to look at it and here are our first impressions along with an unboxing video from our FoneArena Tamil Channel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwA8DJCcNFE Box Contents realme Band in black colour Quick guide booklet Wearing the realme Band, we are greeted with a 0.96-inch LCD color display that has a resolution of 160×80 pixels. On the bottom of the display, there is a virtual button, which is the only method to directly interface with the band. It connects via Bluetooth 4.2 to any smartphone that is running Android 5.0+ and has the realme Link app installed. On the back side, we see the realme Band's highlight feature, a PPG heart rate sensor, which is unheard of at its price point. It can be turned to automatic or manual sensing via a setting in the realme Link app and so far, from our first impressions, it seemed like it was reporting my heart rate with good accuracy. Further, testing on the accuracy of ...

Google ‘Read it’ feature in Assistant can read aloud web pages in 42 different languages
Google announced a pretty neat little feature that is going to make reading web articles on phones a lot easier. Google will also allow users to change the reading speed to suit their needs and even select from different voices. The feature will be supported in 42 languages, which includes Indian languages like Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Sinhalese, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Facebook Messenger for macOS now available in several regions
Just earlier this week, Facebook had announced Project Lightspeed for their mobile Messenger app, overhauling it to make it faster, smaller and simpler. Now, Facebook has begun testing a macOS client of the Messenger, available on the Mac App Store in a few countries like France, Australia, Poland, etc. The macOS app of the messenger offers most of the same features as the mobile app like texting, sharing files, emoji support, voice and video chat along with group chats, voice video calls. For the dark-mode enthusiasts, Facebook has also added a dark theme that will go along with dark mode on the macOS. Apple offers two methods for developers to code mobile apps into a macOS compatible which are known as Electron and Catalyst. Facebook's Messenger has been built with Electron which is a popular way of coding web apps into macOS apps. A Facebook spokesperson stated that Messenger app for macOS is currently being tested in a few countries with no date for wide-rollout yet. Source
HiFuture Flybuds Review
HiFuture launched the Flybuds, the company’s latest wireless earbuds recently. It features Bluetooth 5.0, has touch controls, and promises over 4 hours of playback. After using it for a few weeks, here is the review of HiFuture Flybuds. Design The HiFuture Flybuds features a minimal clean design, which looks more like Apple Airpods. The Flybuds comes with a case which is made up of plastic, due to which it is lightweight. However, the quality of the case could have been better since the shiny body is prone to scratches. With the case, the total weight of the package is about 45.4 grams. Although the fit of earbuds in one's ears is subjective, the FlyBuds Pro offered a secure and comfortable fit during our testing. Since it has in-ear buds, it doesn't fall off easily during workouts or even when running. I have been using this for my runs without any issues. Overall the build quality is good but could have been better. Sound quality Coming to the audio quality, these earbuds offer reasonably good sound quality with a decent amount of bass with the 6mm Neodymium drivers. The vocals were clear, and we did not face any distortion at peak volumes. We were quite impressed with ...
Twitter is testing ‘Fleets’, a Snapchat-type feature that disappears after 24 hours
Twitter has become one of the last major social media platforms to copy Snapchat's 24-hour disappearing type content, calling it 'Fleets'. They are currently testing Fleets in Brazil and it will work differently from regular tweets, that is, users will not be able to retweet, like or publicly comment on them. In a blog article, Twitter explained how a large percent of its user base feels uncomfortable with the public nature of tweets. Pretty much anyone could go through a user's account and bring up tweets from their timeline. This has made a lot of users nervous about tweeting everyday thoughts that could one day be used against them. Fleets is technically still public, that is, it can be seen by anyone during the first 24 hours of it being posted. The difference being Twitter will not push it into Search or Moments or even let it be embedded in an external website. Twitter conducted a survey in which users shared that they would be more comfortable sharing momentary and everyday thoughts if it disappeared 24 hours later. For testers in Brazil, there will be rounded bubble-shaped profile icons at the top of their timeline in the mobile app. The first bubble will ...

Google to launch its second Cloud Platform region in India in Delhi in 2021
Google launched its first cloud region in India in Mumbai back in 2017 in an aim to improve latency from 20-90% for end users in Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and of course Mumbai. Today the company has announced plans to open a Delhi cloud region next year, expanding Google's existing network of eight regions in Asia Pacific and 22 regions globally today. Google's Delhi cloud region will have three zones to protect against service disruptions. The region will also include a portfolio of key GCP products, offer lower latency to nearby users, and, when combined with the existing region in Mumbai, enables geographically separate in-country disaster recovery for our customers’ mission critical applications. Regarding this Google said: GCP regions are the cornerstone of our cloud infrastructure, and they enable customers such as L&T Finance, Manipal Hospital Group, Reliance Mutual Fund, Royal Enfield, TechMahindra, Truecaller, and many more to deliver high performing, secure, low latency, cloud-based services to their users, no matter where they are around the world.
