Redmi 10000mAh and 18W two-way fast charging 20000mAh powerbank launched in India starting at Rs. 799
Xiaomi’s Redmi brand announced its entry into the power bank category with two new power banks back in July last year and now, the company has launched the 10,000mAh and 20,000mAh power banks in India. Redmi branded power banks have been launched alongside the Redmi 8A Dual smartphone. It comes with USB Type-C and micro USB inputs, as well as two USB Type-A output. Both these feature a polycarbonate body, feature a button on the side to view the charge left using LED indicators. It also lets you enable low-power mode that can be activated by pressing the button twice, to charge devices like Mi Band and Mi Bluetooth headset. Xiaomi’s Redmi brand just launched the Redmi 8A Dual, the company’s latest budget smartphone in India, as it had promised. It has a 6.22-inch HD+ 19:9 aspect ratio display with Dot Notch and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 439 SoC with up to 3GB RAM and runs Android Pie with MIUI 10 on top, same as the Redmi 8A. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera along with a secondary 2-megapixel front camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. The phone doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor, but comes with face unlock. It has a plastic back with Aura X Grip compared to Aura wave grip design compared to Aura wave grip in the predecessor, comes with splash resistant nano coating, features dedicated dual SIM slots and packs a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging (10W charger in the box) via USB Type-C port and also comes with support for reverse charging. Samsung Galaxy M31 with 64MP quad rear cameras, 6000mAh battery launching on Amazon India on February 25
After teasers last week, Amazon.in has confirmed that Galaxy M31, successor of the Galaxy M30s will be launched in India on February 25th. It also confirms that the phone will pack 64MP main camera on the back and will have quad camera arrangement compared to triple cameras on the Galaxy M30 and the M30s. The image also confirms rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The phone will pack a 6000mAh battery, same as the Galaxy M30s and pack a Full HD+ Infinity-U Super AMOLED screen, which should be same as the 6.4-inch panel on the M30 and the M30s. Earlier rumors revealed Exynos 9611 10nm SoC with up to 6GB of RAM, up to 128GB storage, Android 10 with OneUI 2.0 on top, 5MP macro lens, 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 5MP depth sensor along with the 64MP main camera. Mint Keyboard to be the default Keyboard on Xiaomi smartphones in future
Xiaomi announced Mint Keyboard back in September last year, it is the result of a collaboration between the Chinese giant and popular app Bobble AI. Designed for Indian users, Mint Keyboard aims to enrich the expressions and conversations with the AI engine. It supports 23 Indic languages and has the ability to accurately predict regional languages. Xiaomi devices running MIUI used to come preloaded with the Facemoji keyboard earlier, but the company recently started preloading Gboard as the default keyboard app on devices running MIUI. Mint Keyboard is deeply integrated with MIUI, be it integration with MIUI Browser, MIUI Calendar or MIUI Themes app. For example, Mi Calendar showed 2020 New Year stickers that can be downloaded from the Mint keyboard. Sony, NVIDIA and Amazon withdraw from MWC 2020 due to coronavirus concerns
Novel coronavirus outbreak has impacted a lot of people in China and at the same time, it has impacted major launch events including the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2020 which is set to begin from 24th February. Recently, LG cancelled its MWC event and following that, now Sony, NVIDIA, and Amazon have withdrawn from MWC 2020. Sony has officially issued a statement that they are withdrawing from Mobile World Congress 2020 following the novel coronavirus outbreak. While Sony is not hosting its event in Barcelona, it is instead hosting its press conference online on Feb 24, 1:00 PM (IST) via the official Xperia YouTube channel to share "exciting product news". LG V60 ThinQ with quad rear cameras, 4-channel microphone, 5000mAh battery surfaces
LG launched the V50 ThinQ 5G smartphone with OLED display, dual-screen accessory, etc. While the successor i.e., LG V60 ThinQ surfaced already, it has now surfaced again in a promotional video showing off the back panel and revealing key specifications as well. According to a promotional video, LG V60 ThinQ is said to sport a punch-hole display and the front-facing camera is located at the center. India smartphone market in 2019: 152.5 million units shipped, up 8% YoY; Xiaomi continues as market leader
India continues to be the second biggest smartphone market in the world, with over 152 million units that calculates 8.0% year-over-year (YoY) growth, according to IDC. The top 5 smartphone manufacturer who sold the most amount of units in India for 2019 were: Xiaomi, Vivo, Samsung, OPPO and realme. In regards to Q4 2019, the market saw a growth of 5.5% YoY, shipping a total of 36.9 million smartphone units. This does a calculate 20.8% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) decline but that is expected as Q3 of a year will see huge shipment numbers due to Diwali festive sales period. Online channels saw a growth of 11.2% YoY in Q4 2019 with 43.3% market share and offline channels saw a tiny growth of 1.4% YoY Xiaomi dominated the Indian market, selling a whopping 43.6 million units in 2019. Its 9.2% YoY growth can be explained with the launch of its popular Redmi Note 7 Pro, Redmi 6A and the newer Redmi 8/Note 8 series.
