Flipkart starts rolling out free video service for Android

Flipkart has started rolling out its video streaming service for Android users for free that allows users to watch movies, TV shows and other video content for free. Viu, Dice Media, TVF, Arre and Voot have partnered with Flipkart for the video content. The videos classified into different sections based on genres and languages. Flipkart offers curated and personalized video content similar to Amazon Prime Video, NetFlix and other streaming services who also offers curated and personalized content for the Indian audience. The video service from Flipkart doesn't have a name yet, and is simply called video, but it could be called 'Flick' once it is launched officially. Flipkart recently said that it is focusing on attracting customers who are in the age group of 20-30 and people who consume a lot of content and is also planning to draw new users from small towns and cities in India. Flipkart Videos is currently rolling out for users through Flipkart Android app. This is also available for non Flipkart Plus users for free. Apple to announce new iPhone models on September 10 hints latest iOS 13 Beta

Apple will unveil the next generation iPhones on September 10, according to the screenshot hidden in the iOS 13 beta 7 named "HoldForRelease," which features the Calendar app with the date set to 10th, Tuesday.  Last year these images showed the date September 12 when the iPhone XS series and XR were introduced. Based on earlier rumors, Apple is expected to announce three iPhone models — successor of iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max models, rumored to be called the iPhone 11 and the iPhone 11 Pro with 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch OLED displays, along with triple rear cameras with 12MP telephoto lens, 12MP wide-angle lens, and a 12MP super-wide-angle lens supplied by Sony. These are also expected to feature larger batteries, new antenna technology to improve indoor reception, A13 processor, a revised Taptic Engine and much more. The iPhone XR successor, which could be called the iPhone 11R is said to sport dual-lens rear camera and an 6.1-inch LCD screen. Apple will also officially launch the iOS 13, watchOS 6, tvOS 13 and macOS macOS Catalina. Apple is expected to send official invitations by the end of this month. Source

Instagram is testing Layout for Stories, new Boomerang modes, Comment Sharing, Notification Filters and more

Instagram has been introducing new features and also been testing new features like data saver for Android, hiding the number of likes on photos, stories to Explore tab and more, recently. Similarly, according to a new report, Instagram has been spotted testing a bunch of new features like Layout for Stories, different modes for Boomerang, Comment Sharing and more. Instagram started rolling out the new Story Camera UI after announcing it at F8 2019 earlier this year. Now, Instagram is testing different gradient color for each icon of different camera modes and this is said to be introduced to differentiate between one mode and another. Facebook renames groups privacy settings; adds admin tools for safety

Facebook introduced new features at the F8 event earlier this year including a refreshed design, new tools for Groups and more. On similar lines, Facebook has now announced that they are rolling out a new simplified privacy model for Groups and bringing clarity about the privacy settings for their groups. Facebook Groups will now have two privacy settings-public and private and is essentially renaming its confusing public group, closed group, and secret group settings. The company says that this will help make it clearer about who can find the group and see the members and posts that are part of it. With this simplified 'Groups' privacy settings, the Public groups will allow anyone to see who is in the group and everything that’s shared there and private groups will only allow members to see who else is in the group and what they’ve posted. So, “secret” group will now be labeled as "private" and "hidden" group and the "closed" groups will now be labeled as "private" but "visible" groups. OnePlus to launch new 5G smartphone globally in Q4 2019

OnePlus introduced the OnePlus 7 5G, its first 5G smartphone exclusively with EE in the UK and Elisa in Finland, but it did not expand it to other countries. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau in an interview with FT has confirmed that the company will launch its second 5G smartphone in Q4 2019, and it will be sold globally. OnePlus recently signed a carrier agreement with Sprint for an unnamed device, which the company said will be an ultra-premium smartphone. This will likely be the new OnePlus 5G phone. It will likely be powered by Snapdragon 855 Plus combined with Qualcomm's X50 5G modem, similar to most recent 5G phones and could be called the OnePlus 7T Pro 5G. The OnePlus CEO also said that OnePlus will launch its first TV soon, and it could support 5G in the future. HMD Global is extending security updates to Nokia 3, 5, 6 and 8 by one more year

HMD Global had already promised 2 years of Android updates and two years of regular security updates for its smartphones, and it has delivered updates as it had promised. Phones like Nokia 3 that was introduced back in June 2017 got its third major update to Android Pie earlier this year. As the two-year period draws to a close for Nokia 8, Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3, the company has announced that these phones will be able to receive quarterly security patch updates right through to the end of the 3rd year, which is till 2020. "To ensure you’ll be up to date, these quarterly releases will include all patches from the previous months," said the company. Misfit, the company owned by Fossil group and known for its smart wearables has just launched its new Vapor X smartwatch. Misfit Vapor X smartwatch features a circular display, aluminum alloy case, is powered by Wear OS by Google and more. Misfit Vapor X smartwatch is the lightest smartwatch from the brand and it sports a 1.19-inch full round AMOLED display with 328 pixels per inch, 42mm dial with aluminum alloy case.
