LG IFA 2019 event scheduled for September 6, LG V60 ThinQ expected

LG has posted a teaser video on its social channels announcing its IFA 2019 event in on September 6th. The teaser shows dual screen support and a game running on both the screens, along with the launch date. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YguzVLFYd4 LG already introduced a dual-screen accessory with the V50 ThinQ 5G that adds a second 6.2-inch OLED FHD+ display for better gaming and multitasking experience. In select games, the Dual Screen can be used as a dedicated controller when connected to the phone via Bluetooth. LG already said that it will introduce an upgraded dual-screen with the new smartphone later, so that we can see some improvements. We still don't have any specifications of the phone, but we can expect QHD+ OLED screen, Snapdragon 855 Plus and 5G support powered by Snapdragon X50 5G Modem, camera improvements and more. The LG IFA 2019 announcement is set for September 6, 2019 at IFA in Berlin, Germany and starts at 10:00 am CEST (1:30 PM IST).

HUAWEI to introduce EMUI 10 on August 9 [Update: Official invite and expected features]

Update: August 6, 2019 — HUAWEI has finally published an invitation for the announcement of EMUI 10 on August 9th. Based on a promo that surfaced recently, EMUI 10 will bring new features including Classification of UI elements' design and effects, Gallery content management and sorting, Video Ringtones improvements, Personalization options for Theme, Wallpaper, and Fonts, Improvements to system animations, games and more. Earlier: HUAWEI introduced EMUI 9.0 last year with a lot of new features, and the EMUI 9.1 was introduced alongside the P30 Pro earlier this year, which  started rolling out to older devices starting from the HUAWEI Mate 20 Series last month, and will roll out to other phones this month and next month. Now the company has confirmed that it will launch the EMIUI 10 at the HUAWEI Developer's conference on August 9th. Some reports from China say that the company will also show off 'HongMeng OS' for Chinese market, which is said to launch as 'Oak OS' for the global markets later. After the launch of Amazfit Verge smartwatch earlier this year, Huami today launched the Amazfit Verge Lite, a cheaper version in India. It has the same 1.3-inch AMOLED Screen, has several Sports Modes, including Outdoor Running, Treadmill, Walking, Outdoor Cycling, Indoor Cycling, Elliptical Trainer, Exercise and more, comes with a water resistant body with IP68 ratings, comes with continuous heart rate monitoring, but it doesn't come with a microphone or a speaker, so you can't take calls on the watch like the Verge. It has GPS + GLONASS to precisely track your sports activities and promises up to 20 days of battery life, but it loses Wi-Fi connectivity, Gyroscope, Geomagnetic sensor and the Air pressure sensor present on the Verge. Xiaomi Redmi Y2 finally gets Android 9.0 Pie-based MIUI Global Stable ROM [Download Link]

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Y2 in India running MIUI 9.5 on top of Android 8.1 (Oreo) and later rolled out MIUI 10 update back in September 2018. In February the company started recruiting Beta testers for testing Android Pie based MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM for various devices including Redmi Y2 but later changed the plan and announced that Android Pie based MIUI Global Stable ROM for Redmi Y2/S2 will be released around June. Lenovo, Intel partner to accelerate high-performance computing and AI

Intel and Lenovo have today announced a multiyear collaboration to extend high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI) to help accelerate solutions for the world’s most challenging problems. The collaboration is said to create solutions for organizations of all sizes and will speed the convergence of HPC and AI. With this collaboration, Lenovo will be optimizing Intel’s full portfolio of HPC and AI hardware and software solutions and aim to accelerate the convergence of HPC and AI. The collaboration plans to focus on areas like Systems and solutions, Software optimization for HPC and AI convergence and Ecosystem enablement. Lenovo plans to combine the 2nd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable platform and Lenovo Neptune liquid cooling technology as they have produced great results from joint engineering and utilizing a unique combination of HPC IP from the two companies. Samsung to launch Exynos SoCs with AMD Radeon graphics in 2021

Recently, AMD and Samsung Electronics announced a multi-year strategic partnership which stated that Samsung will license AMD graphics IP to use it in its future SoCs. In similar lines, now Samsung has confirmed that it plans to launch SoCs with AMD Radeon graphics as early as 2021. During Samsung's 2019 quarterly earnings call, the company confirmed that it plans to launch AMD Radeon graphics tech beyond mobile SoCs and also expects their first chips to feature AMD graphics tech will launch in two years. With the inclusion of AMD Radeon graphics in its SoCs, Samsung hopes that the "GPU competitiveness" of AMD will help increase the performance of its mobile SoCs. Samsung will be paying licensing fees and royalties to AMD and this will help AMD to improve their technology further. It will take 2 years of time for Samsung to integrate this, and we can expect Samsung smartphones launching in 2021 to be equipped with AMD Radeon graphics.
