Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Gaming smartphone with Snapdragon 845, 8GB RAM, dual rear cameras to be announced on October 23

Xiaomi-backed Black Shark has announced that the Black Shark 2 smartphone succcessor of the Black Shark Gaming Phone that was introduced  in China  back in April this year, will go official on October 23rd. The phone already got certified by TENAA with model number AWM-A0, revealing a veritical dual rear camera arrangement and rear mounted fingerprint sensor. It also revealed RGB logo on the back. There is a large speaker grill on the front. Geekbench listing revealed Snapdragon 845 SoC, 8GB of RAM and Android 8.1 (Oreo). TENAA listing revealed a 5.99-inch display, so the company could retain the FHD+ display and it has a 4000mAh battery, same as the predecessor. The dimensions of the phone is 160 × 75.26 × 8.7mm, which is almost same as the predecessor, but this is slightly thinner. It will likely retain the liquid cooling tech, Dual Speakers and Gamepad support. We should know all the details when the phone goes official next week. Source 1, 2

Sony confirms Android 9.0 Pie update for range of Xperia smartphones [Update: Roll out dates detailed]

Update - October 19: After the Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact got the Android 9.0 (Pie) update  last week, earlier than the promised November release. Sony has now announced new dates for the roll out for other devices. Apple schedules special event on October 30, New iPad Pro, Macbooks and more expected

Apple has officially announced its October 30th event, teasing ‘There’s more in the making’, after several rumors. The event takes place at Howard Gilman Opera House in New York City. Apple is expected to announce redesigned iPad Pro, new Mac, Mac mini, iMac and more. The new iPad Pro models are expected to come in new 11-inch size and a redesigned 12.9-inch size. These are expected replace Touch ID with Face ID, all-screen design without notch, no 3.5mm audio jack and probably a USB-C port  instead of a Lightning port, a faster A12X chip, and support for a second-generation Apple Pencil. Mac mini could get a processor upgrade,three and a half years since the last Mac mini update. Both the MacBook and MacBook Pro will likely see processor upgrades and True Tone display for the MacBook Pro. The low-cost Notebook might not be from the MacBook Air series, instead, rumors have suggested this machine could be a 12-inch MacBook. Apple seems to be planning to expand the MacBook lineup with an additional low-cost option to replace the MacBook Air. Reliance Jio reports Rs. 681 crore profit in FY Q2 2018-19, crosses 250 million subscribers

Reliance Jio has reported Rs. 9240 crore revenue, up 13.9% QoQ and 50.3 YoY and a net profit of 681 crore, up 11.3% QoQ for its fifth quarterly financial performance for the period that ended 30th September, 2018.  Jio reported Standalone earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of 3,573 crore, up 13.5% QoQ, EBITDA margin of 38.7%, and Standalone earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) of 2,042 crore, up 19.6% QoQ . Consolidated value of services stood at 10,901 crore, up 13.9% over trailing quarter. It has 252.3 million subscribers as of September 30th, achieving it in 25 months of commencemnt of services. Average revenue per user (ARPU) during the quarter – ₹131.7 per subscriber per month Total wireless data traffic – 771 crore GB Average voice traffic – 53,379 crore minutes per day Video consumption per subscriber per month – 410 crore hours (17.5 hours per user per month) Jio announced its JioGigaFiber services for Homes and Enterprise at the 41st AGM (post IPO) of RIL in July. Samsung has launched the Galaxy Tab S4, successor of last year’s Galaxy Tab S3, after it was introduced in August. OnePlus 6T India launch event entry tickets sold out within minutes

A few days back OnePlus sent out invites confirming the launch of most expected OnePlus 6T smartphone globally including India on October 30th, the same time it launches in New York at 11 AM EDT (8:30 PM IST). Since OnePlus wanted their fans to take part in the launch event celebration, the company offered launch event vouchers at Rs. 999 via oneplus.in.  As promised, the voucher went on sale this morning at 10 AM and was sold out soon after going live.
