AT&T now lets you pay your phone bills with Bitcoin
AT&T has become the first major U.S. mobile carrier to accept payment in cryptocurrency. AT&T customers can now use BitPay to pay online bills using Bitcoin (BTC). Customers will be able to select BitPay as a payment option when they log on to their accounts online or with the myAT&T app. BitPay, one of the popular cryptocurrency companies will process the cryptocurrency for AT&T and give them the payments in cash. Currently, you can only pay AT&T phone bills using Bitcoin, but it might eventually let you expand it to other services such as buying phones using cryptocurrency. After this move, other operators in the U.S. and other countries are expected to introduce mobile bill payments using cryptocurrency. Commenting on this, Kevin McDorman, vice president, AT&T Communications Finance Business Operations, said: We’re always looking for ways to improve and expand our services. We have customers who use cryptocurrency, and we are happy we can offer them a way to pay their bills with the method they prefer. Source
