Google Assistant gets flight check-in, Maps integration and Interpreter Mode; will work from lockscreen on all Android phones soon

At CES 2019, Google has introduced a preview of Google Assistant Connect which is a platform for device manufacturers to bring the Google Assistant into their products in an easy-to-implement way. Google also announced that it is bringing the Assistant to the Sonos One and Sonos Beam. Google said that it is working with even more brands to launch new smart home devices this year, including select Whirlpool connected appliances, GE’s smart microwave, and August security products.  The company said that it will share more details about Assistant Connect and how device makers can gain access to the technology later this year. At CES, Whirlpool also previewed the new KitchenAid Smart Display with the Google Assistant. The device guides you through cooking recipes from Yummly and simultaneously controls your smart home devices. It sports a 10-inch display and is also water resistant. Google Assistant will be making its way to the Sonos One and Sonos Beam. Google also mentioned that soon users will be able to check in to your flight status starting with domestic flights with United Airlines, save and retrieve your boarding pass, all with the Google Assistant on Android or iOS.
