Android Oreo adoption rate climbs to 19.2%, Nougat is now on 29.3% devices

Google is out with latest Android distribution numbers with Oreo adoption rate climbing up to 19.2% including both Android 8.0 and 8.1. This compared to the 12.1% back in July. Android Pie has been rolling out to a handful of devices, but it didn't make it up to the list. The Nougat adaption is at 29.3% compared to 30.8% in July. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow is now at 21.6% compared to the 23.5% in July. The Lollipop operating system adoption now stands at 18.3% down from 20.4% in July. KitKat OS now on 7.8% devices compared to 9.1% in July. The listing also shows adoption of Jellybean is at 3.2% down from 3.6% in July.  Gingerbread and Ice cream sandwich are at 0.3% and 0.3% respectively. The data was collected before 7-days ending on September 28, 2018, said Google. With the company slowly ending support for older OS, we should see a slight growth in the latest and upcoming Android P adaption. Source
