Android Messages might soon be integrated within Chrome OS
According to a new commit in the open source Chromium Gerrit, Google is said to be working on Chrome OS and Android Messages integration. No new introduction is needed for Chrome OS; it is Google's operating system for laptops, set-top boxes, and more recently, detachable, and tablets. On the other hand, Android Messages and RCS client is part of most Android devices. With Google rumored to be launching a dedicated a web client for Android Messages, this news surely comes as a surprise. However, commit and feature flag descriptions lack any details about the integration. Another commit involves a workaround for pairing the Chromebook with an Android device and that the pairing is handled “in the browser process.” We have already seen support for most browsers like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Opera, and Apple Safari, but this is the first we’re hearing about anything Chromebook-specific. For now, this is all we have about the Android Messages and Chrome integration; we will let you know once we know more. Source | Via
