Razer Phone Android 8.1 Oreo developer preview now available, stable update from April
Razer today announced that it will be rolling out the Android 8.1 Oreo update to everyone from mid to late April 2018. However, the developer's preview is available for those who wish to try out the update before the official roll out. Since the developer's preview is an early release of the Oreo update, the company warns about the bugs and stability issues. It also mentioned that Manually flashing the Razer Phone by unlocking the bootloader will void your warranty. The company is skipping the 8.0 update and is directly pushing the 8.1 Oreo. [HTML1] While the company hasn't provided an official changelog, it is safe to assume that all the Oreo features like picture-in-picture, apps restrictions running in the background, notification dots by app icons, and more. The developer's preview will come with February 5, 2018, security patch, which will also be the same security patch when the official version releases. The company also clarified that the Developer's preview will not contain any carrier-specific modifications and is same to everyone except for the VoLTE support, Wi-Fi calling support. If you have the Razer Phone and want to try out the 8.1 Oreo developer's preview, you can download the update file from here and manually flash it.
