Samsung Galaxy Light Android 4.4 Kitkat Firmware Update

Samsung Galaxy Light is a powerful Samsung handset for T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon and other USA retailers. Samsung Galaxy Light Android 4.4 Kitkat update is now live. You can go through Settings > About phone and download it officially.

We will be going through update instructions in this guide but before that some pre upgrade requirements.
  • You will also have to root your Samsung Galaxy Light to prepare it for Android 4.4 Kitkat upgrade.
  • Just before beginning to upgrade your Samsung Galaxy Light to Android 4.4 Kitkat don’t forget to backup your information, as contacts, text messages and the apps installed from Google Play Store who maybe lost when the installation finishes.
  • USB debugging should be enabled on your device.
  • Your phone should have ClockWorkMod Recovery Installed.
Now let’s see how to update Samsung Galaxy Light to Android 4.4 Kitkat -
  1. Download Samsung Galaxy Light Android 4.4 Firmware package to your PC first.
  2. Install the ROM Manager on your Samsung Galaxy Light. Get it from Google Play Store, then install the clockwork mod recovery.
  3. Connect your Samsung Galaxy Light to your PC employing the USB information cable. Copy the “Samsung Galaxy Light_4.4 Kitkat.zip” file you downloaded to the SD memory card.
  4. Restart your device in the recovery mode using ROM Manager. As soon as in Recovery Mode, go to ROM Manager and select backup / restore to back-up your information.
  5. From the Recovery Menu do a total data erase (including Delvik Cache).
  6. When completed, Go back to Recovery Menu and choose Flash ROM from SD Card. Navigate the location you copied the ”Samsung Galaxy Light_4.4 Kitkat.zip” file and follow the directions for installing Android 4.4 Kitkat on your Samsung Galaxy Light.
  7. Once done hit "Reboot system now" to boot your device normally.
As soon as the installation is over, just reboot your Samsung Galaxy Light device, and here you go, you’ve just upgraded it to the new Android 4.4 Kitkat.
