HP, Microsoft and Valve partner up to develop next-gen Reverb VR headset
About a year ago, HP released the Reverb VR Headset which had features like with spatial audio, dual microphones and more. Now HP has apparently partnered with Microsoft and Valve to produce its next-gen VR headset that will be designed for "Developers, architects, and VR users". The device does look similar to first Reverb VR headset and it looks like it will support Microsoft's Mixed Reality inside out tracking. Samsung introduces All-in-one Power ICs for TWS earphones
With the truly wireless earphone market growing at a rapid pace, Samsung has decided to invest in the internal electronics of a TWS earphone, launching its first All-in-One Power ICs. They are highly optimized ICs for this category to provide for longer battery life and more efficient designs. The new power management integrated circuits (PMIC), MUA01 and MUB01, are designed for the charging case and the earbuds respectively. It integrates up to ten discrete components into one, including switching chargers and discharge circuits, for highly efficient and smaller design. This allows bigger batteries and hence better battery life. It also supports both wireless and wired charging in a single chip. The MUA01 and MUB01 are currently in mass production and are found in Samsung’s Galaxy Buds+ TWS earbuds that were announced recently. Commenting on the launch, Dong-ho Shin, senior vice president of System LSI marketing at Samsung Electronics said: TWS earbuds present elevated listening experiences for more users and the trend is rapidly expanding the mobile accessory market, creating new opportunities for device manufacturers. It has a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Infinity-U Super AMOLED display and is powered by an Octa-Core processor, which is said to be MediaTek Helio P65 with up to 6GB of RAM, has a 48-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel 123° ultra-wide angle camera, 5-megapixel depth sensor, 5-megapixel macro camera and a 20-megapixel camera on the front. Google Stadia Makers program announced in partnership with Unity
It has been four months since Google launched its own game streaming platform, Google Stadia, in a rather lack-luster fashion. However, it seems like Google is committed towards developing Stadia, as it announced a partnership with game engine developer Unity, by launching a program called Stadia Makers. The program is designed to help experienced independent game developers with self publishing capabilities on the Stadia Platform. With its partnership with Unity, who is known for its very popular game engine, it will ease a lot of complications that arise during game development. Benefits of the program include: Technical assistance from experts at Unity to ensure that the projects meet targeted alpha, beta, certification, and launch dates. Free development hardware for Stadia Makers participants, up to 5 physical development depending on team size and structure. Funding, as Stadia can offset some cost associated with developing across multiple platforms. The program is eligible to those developers who are currently developing their game on Unity 2019.3 or later and who are expecting to ship their game in 2020 and 2021. Redmi Note 9 Pro Max sale delayed due to state lockdowns across India
Xiaomi's Redmi brand launched the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max smartphones in India earlier this month. The Redmi Note 9 Pro went on first sale on Amazon.in, Mi.com and Mi Home Stores on 17th March, and at the launch event the company said that the Note 9 Pro Max will be available from Amazon.in, Mi.com and Mi Home Stores starting from March 25th. Now announced that the phone will not go on sale on the promised date and will be available soon without mentioned any tentative date. This is due to state lockdowns across India due to Coronavirus. HUAWEI Kirin 820 5G SoC with Mali-G57 GPU gets benchmarked, beats Snapdragon 765G
Details about the upcoming Kirin 820 SoC from HUAWEI has surfaced on AnTuTu. According to the listing, HONOR 30S with the model number CDY-AN90 runs Android 10 and the phone has 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage and a Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) screen. The Kirin 820 is an Octa-Core SoC with four bigger Cortex-A76 cores and four smaller Cortex-A55, with a maximum clock speed of 2.36GHz and has Mali-G57 GPU, but the clock speed and the number of cores for the GPU is unknown. It should use the same 7nm processor technology as the predecessor. The phone has scored 375270 points on AnTuTu, out of which the CPU score is 130080, the GPU score is 116516, the MEM score is 66886, and the UX score is 61788, beating the Redmi K30 5G equipped with Snapdragon 765G and HUAWEI nova 6 SE equipped with Kirin 810, and is slightly behind the Honor V20 powered with Kirin 980.
