Nubia RedMagic 5G with 6.65-inch FHD+ 144Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 865, up to 16GB RAM announced
ZTE's nubia brand just announced the RedMagic 5G, the company's latest flagship smartphone as it had promised. It packs a 6.65-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate, follow-up response time of 14.9ms, a sliding response time of 45ms, and a click response time of 32.2ms. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 865 with up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM, comes with new L-shaped cooling pipe and new Active Liquid-Cooling with Turbo Fan 3.0 is 200% cooler from previous RedMagic phones and has increased the air flow volume by 30% and also features multilayer thermal graphite. The phone users dual IC game Shoulder Trigger Buttons that have also been improved to have 300Hz touch refresh rate and down to 2ms touch delay. DishTV, a satellite direct-to-home (DTH) Company is launching two new products in India as part of their 'Connected Devices' namely: the d2h stream Hybrid HD Set-Top Box and d2h Magic (Voice enabled) streaming stick. The d2h stream is an Android TV 9.0 based HD Set-Top Box that can provide a smartTV experience with any TV. OnePlus to invest $30 million to scale up 5G research and development labs
Yesterday OnePlus confirmed that its next flagship series will come with 5G support. Today it has announced that it will invest almost US$ 30 million to scale up 5G research and development labs, showcasing its commitment to bringing 5G technology to more users worldwide. The company started 5G research as early as 2016, and said that it plans to extend its plans to push 5G research and development forward, allowing OnePlus users to enjoy fast and smooth experiences on 5G. Supporting both hardware and software research and development, OnePlus' 5G labs, located in Shenzhen and Taipei, mainly focus on achieving better user experiences of 5G technology on OnePlus' devices. The scope of OnePlus 5G labs includes research and development in areas like radio frequency (RF) circuits, antennas and multi-media (camera, audio, and display), said the company. The labs also conduct software research for communication protocol, throughput optimization, performance, power, stability and user scenario testing. LAVA Pay non-internet digital payment solution for feature phones launched
LAVA, an Indian manufacturer of mobile handsets, is launching their non-internet based digital payment solution in India called the LAVA Pay. The app will come pre-installed in upcoming LAVA feature phones and can also be installed in existing handsets by visiting a LAVA service center. It features a simple UI, where the user would need to enter the mobile number of the receiver, the payment amount and then finally the UPI pin or transaction code to authenticate the transaction. Once completed, both the sender and receiver will receive notifications for the transaction. Users will also be able to check account balances from within the app itself. To do so, a user needs to go their nearest bank branch to configure application with the account details and such. Xiaomi's Redmi brand just launched Redmi Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max, two new smartphones as a successor of last year’s Redmi Note 8 Pro in India, as it had promised. These phones have a 6.67-inch Full HD+ LCD screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 Protection and are powered by the latest Snapdragon 720G 8nm SoC. The Redmi Note 9 Pro features a 48-megapixel primary rear camera with Samsung GM2 Sensor, while the Note 9 Pro Max comes with a 64-megapixel camera with Samsung GW1 sensor. Other cameras are similar that includes an 8-megapixel 120° ultra-wide angle lens, 5-megapixel 2cm macro sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
