The only place where the Stadia controller can work wirelessly is on TV's with Chromecast Ultra. Google has said that they are working on methods to connect the Stadia controller via Wi-Fi to browsers and mobile. Google's Stadia is a long way away from being an enjoyable experience. Qualcomm Snapdragon X60 3rd generation 5nm 5G modem with up to 7.5Gbps download speeds announced

The race for 5G surges ahead as major 5G modem chip manufacturer, Qualcomm has announced its 3rd generation 5G modem-to-antenna solution called the Snapdragon X60. It features the worlds first 5nm 5G baseband and has spectrum aggregation across all key 5G bands and combinations. The chip is capable of supporting both mmWave and sub-6 using frequency division duplex (FDD) and time division duplex (TDD), which was not possible previously in a single chip. With this capability, smartphone manufactures do not have to choose between which 5G to implement in this smartphone as the spectrum assets are highly fragmented currently. The X60 also supports 5G Voice-over-NR (VoNR) for high quality voice services. It uses Qualcomm's new QTM535 mmWave antenna module, which is highly optimised for mmWave performance along with having a more compact design. Qualcomm claims the X60 platform can deliver up to 7.5 gigabits per second (Gbps) download speeds and 3 Gbps upload speeds. We can expect the Snapdragon X60 chip to appear of commercial premium smartphones sometime during early 2021. Commenting on the launch, Cristiano Amon, president, Qualcomm Incorporated said: Qualcomm Technologies is at the heart of 5G launches globally with mobile operators and OEMs introducing 5G services and mobile devices at record ...

TCL concept phone with slide-out screen press images surface

With more and more phones coming with foldable displays, both along the horizontal and vertical axis, TCL has supposedly gone another route and built a concept phone that incorporates a slide-out display instead. The idea behind the design is to have a tablet experience on a regular phone once the screen is pulled out. TCL was initially planning to showcase a working prototype of the concept device during MWC 2020. But since the show was cancelled after the Coronavirus outbreak, TCL may have to hold a separate event to unveil the device to the public. The working mechanism for the screen to slide is unclear at the moment. The phone appears to have one continuous display that curves completely on both sides. A break in phone's design can be seen between the center of the phone and the dual front-facing camera along the right side. It is anyone's guess as to how the flexible display bends or wraps behind the other to achieve this design. At the moment, both the Huawei Mate X and the Samsung Galaxy Fold adopt a similar strategy of having a smaller phone that unfolds into a larger screen for tablet experience. Except both phones use a more “traditional” ...

Apple said to have scheduled an event for March 31st, iPhone SE 2 (iPhone 9) expected

Apple is said to hold a spring time press event at the end of March, likely to launch the upcoming rumoured “iPhone 9” or “iPhone SE 2”. Apple previously held a press event during spring 2019 to unveil new iPad models along with new versions of their Pages, Keynote and Numbers iOS apps. While the press event is said to be held on March 31st, the iPhone SE 2 (or iPhone 9) will go on sale during the same week on Friday, April 3rd. The phone will be a successor to popular iPhone SE, which was launched back in 2016. While the original iPhone SE was an upgraded version of the iPhone 5s, the iPhone SE 2 will be an upgraded version of the iPhone 8. It will keep the iPhone 8's design, including the TouchID sensor that Apple had ditched from the iPhone X onwards. Other specs include a 4.7-inch LCD screen, A13 Bionic (rumoured) and a single rear camera. Apple may announce several other products, that may include an update to the iPad Pro series, an update to the 13-inch MacBook Pro, Apple UWB Airtags, and they might also release iOS 13.4. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 with WUXGA display surfaces

Samsung is continuing to expand its tablet lineup as fresh leaks of the design of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) have surfaced. The mid range tablet from Samsung will feature an 8.4 inch screen, Exynos processor, and a single camera system. The Galaxy Tab A series is Samsung's mid range series whereas the Galaxy Tab S series is part of their more expensive high end tablets. The tablet is rumoured to have an 8.4-inch screen with a resolution of 1920x1200, powered by the Exynos 7904 chipset which is an octa-core processor. For memory, the Tablet A 8.4 is said to have 3GB of RAM and 64GB storage option with a micro-SD card slot for expansion. From the leak we can see that the screen looks a bit more modern with the top and bottom bezels being shrunk compared to last year's Galaxy Tab A 8. Similar to last year, the tablet continues to have a single rear camera but with a slightly cleaner design. There is no information as to when the tablet will be released and Samsung is unlikely to hold a press event for the tablet launch like they did for the Galaxy S20 series in the Samsung unpacked event.
