MIUI Security App update brings Dark Mode — Here’s how to get it
[caption id="attachment_305215" align="aligncenter" width="575"] MIUI Security App v4.2.2 on POCO X2[/caption] Xiaomi introduced system-wide Dark mode in MIUI last year, the dark mode brought the dark theme to many system apps such as Phone, Contacts, Messaging, Gallery, Calculator, Notes, Screen Recorder, and Updater. Xiaomi added the dark mode to remaining apps such as Mi File Explorer and App Vault with updates but MIUI security app was one such app that didn't receive dark mode yet. [gallery size="large" link="file" ids="305199,305200,305201"] Recently an updated version of MIUI Security has surfaced on the web that brings dark mode support to the app. The update brings dark mode to most of the pages of the MIUI Security app. Check out the screenshots below, [gallery size="large" link="file" ids="305202,305203,305204"] [gallery size="large" link="file" ids="305205,305206,305207"] It is weird that Cleaner and Cleaner settings are the two pages which still do not have dark mode support, we hope that Xiaomi will add dark mode support to these pages as well in the future. [gallery size="large" columns="2" link="file" ids="305208,305209"] You can download the APK on devices running MIUI by clicking here and install it on your device, we will update the post whenever Xiaomi starts rolling out the update for MIUI Global Stable ROM users.
Airtel, Vodafone struggle to pay AGR dues to DoT after SC order
On Friday, the Supreme Court (SC) heavily criticised the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) for not collecting AGR dues from telecom operators such as Airtel and Vodafone after failing to meet its January 24th deadline. Airtel will reportedly pay Rs. 10000 crores for now while Vodafone has informed the SC that they will only be able to Rs. 2500 crores now. The Friday order put both companies into a panic as the dues reported were at Rs. 35,586 crore for Airtel and Rs. 53,000 crores for Vodafone, according to most recent estimates. Out of this, Airtel has decided to pay up Rs. 10,000 crore for now and will decide when to the rest later. Vodafone, on the other hand, is in trouble as they have only been able to cough up Rs. 2500 crores to pay the fine. According to its lawyers, Vodafone will be able to pay up another Rs. 1000 crores by February 21, but they are desperately seeking relief from the SC for extending the payment deadline for the rest of the AGR dues. The SC, clearly unhappy with the DoT leniency on issue of these dues, is unlikely to provide any such relief. According to the SC, failure to ...
2020 iPhones may feature Apple’s in house designed 5G antenna module
It is clear that Apple wants to distance itself as far as possible from Qualcomm, even though they settled the long legal battle with them last year. News has popped up claiming that Apple is trying to design their own 5G antenna for the upcoming 2020 iPhones that will be released soon, in attempt to use as little Qualcomm products as possible. Since the end of the legal battle, Apple has been trying to reduce its dependence on Qualcomm in its future products. They are tired of paying Qualcomm an unfair amount of royalties for their intellectual property license and products. Apple recently bought Intel's modem business and has been investing heavily in designing their own modems which may replace Qualcomm's modems in the iPhone in the future. However, They will face a lot of complications as 5G antennae, especially milli-meter wave 5G antenna is extremely hard to design and manufacture. Another issue is that Apple is unhappy with Qualcomm's QTM 525 antenna module as they believe the chip is not a good fit for the 2020 iPhones sleek industrial design. Apple claims it would require a thicker design, which is something that they are not keen on. Qualcomm, on the other hand, ...
