Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2020 event is scheduled on February 16th where the company will officially unveil the Galaxy S20 series and the Galaxy Fold 2 could be unveiled alongside. While a plethora of rumors, renders of the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra surfaced recently, now the official renders of the upcoming Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ has surfaced along with key details of the smartphones. According to the renders, the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ won't be sporting a 3D glass like the previous flagship models, instead they will sport a 2.5D curved glass. The bezels on the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ will be narrow, according to the renders. Apple warns EU against common charging port; citing risks of stifling innovation
About a week ago, news arrived of the European Union (EU) contemplating passing legislature that would force all companies selling gadgets in the EU to have a common charging port. As expected, Apple has pushed back, warning the EU about the potential negative consequences of such a legislature, citing possible risks of stifling innovation in the tech space. If the EU does pass the legislation with this new regulation, it is quite clear that the company that would stand to lose the most would be Apple. This is due to fact that Apple continues to use its proprietary Lightning Connector on the iPhone to this day. Android phones on the other hand, for the most part, have already switched to the USB Type-C port for charging. It is unclear as to what Apple would do in case the legislation does get passed. Would it comply and engineer an iPhone that charges via USB-C or would it try and fight the legislation long enough until it releases the rumoured port-less iPhone in 2021? Samsung is all set to introduce its second-generation foldable smartphone at the Unpacked 2020 on February 11. Now details about the Galaxy Z Flip (Previously called Galaxy Bloom) have started surfacing. Earlier rumors said that the phone will feature a 6.7-inch foldable Dynamic AMOLED display and a cover display. According to the latest rumors, the Galaxy Z Flip will feature 'Samsung Ultra Thin Glass', and there will be crease when the screen folds. The rumor also says that the phone will be powered by Snapdragon 855 Plus, and not the Snapdragon 865. It is said to come with 1-inch front display lets you check charging speeds and battery info and will also work as a view finder for the camera for better rear camera selfies. Vivo’s iQOO to launch Snapdrgon 865-powered 5G phone in India in February
Vivo announced iQOO (stands for 'I Quest On and On') sub-brand in China last year, and has launched several smartphones since then in its home ground, including iQOO Pro 5G. Now the company has confirmed that it will launch its first product for the Indian market in February. It also plans to launch 4G smartphones in the country with high-end specifications. The iQOO phone will be India’s first smartphone powered by Snapdragon 865 Mobile Platform and will also feature 5G support. iQOO said that it will be backed by robust performance capabilities in the charging, gaming, and design department, providing phone phonetics uninterrupted content consumption, according to the company. iQOO will be selling its phones in India through online platforms initially, and plans to sell its phones via offline stores in the future. OnePlus has released an incremental OS update to the OnePlus 6 and 6T that fixes multiple small system wide bugs like black screens appearing after unlocking the device with a fingerprint, device heating issues when charging, random disconnection issue with 5Ghz Hotspot and more. There are also fixes to the camera, specifically the camera crash issues and image preview times in the Pro mode. Google, following the trend it follows every year, has set the I/O conference at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California this year too. The event will kick start on May 12th and go through until the 11th. At the conference, Google is expected to introduce Android 11 and updates to its products. Last year at the I/O Google introduced Android Q, after that it changed the name to Android 10, so we can expect Android 11 this year. Before the official announcement of Android 11, Google should release the developers' beta sometime in March giving the company a good 45 days time to beta test the OS and shape it for I/O. Like every time, the company has not officially announced the dates immediately instead, it had shared a puzzle like last time and users on Twitter are fast enough to decode the dates.
