Realme 3 Pro realme UI Software Update Tracker [Update: Android 10 based realme UI 1.0]

realme launched the realme 3 Pro in the country back in April running ColorOS 6.0 based on Android 9.0 (Pie). realme doesn’t follow a fixed update frequency but the company rolls out updates frequently. HUAWEI P40 Pro with LEICA penta rear cameras, 10x optical zoom, ceramic body surfaces, expected on March 26

HUAWEI is all set to introduce its P40 series in the coming weeks, now the first clear render of the P40 has surfaced showing off the ceramic back in Black and White, thanks to @evleaks. This also shows dual punch-hole display and penta rear camera arrangement with LEICA branding, and this is said to be P40 Pro Premium Edition. Zooming in the camera part reveals VARIO-SUMMILUX-H 1:1.8-4.0/18-240 equivalence ASPH Lens, between the ultra wide and telephoto for the cameras. This clearly shows periscope lens that is said to adopt 2 mirrors and an extended field of view to achieve a 10x optical zoom, as rumored earlier compared to optical zoom of 5X in the predecessor. It is said to use 52MP main camera for 13MP output. The lower P40 Pro model is said to feature quad rear cameras with 5x optical zoom lens module. The image shows USB Type-C Port, speaker grill and a primary microphone on the bottom. realme 2, realme C1, realme 3 and realme 3i latest updates bring Dark Mode Toggle and January Android Security Patch

realme launched realme 2 and realme C1 back in 2018 running Android Oreo and later updated both the devices to Android Pie. realme launched realme 3 smartphone in India back in March, later in July it launched realme 3i, a cheaper version. A couple of months back, the company rolled out updates for all 4 smartphones bringing system-wide Dark Mode, realme Laboratory and more. Now, the company has started rolling out the new RMX1821EX_11.A.25 update to realme 3 and realme 3i. The update brings January security patch along with a dark mode quick switch toggle in the notification panel. The update also enables flash on calls feature on realme 3 and realme 3i. realme 3 and 3i aren't the only devices receiving January security patch update, the company is also rolling out RMX1805EX_11_A.63 update to realme 2 and realme C1. realme recently shared a few features of its upcoming realme UI that will offer near-stock Android experience. Western Digital launches Blue SN550 NVMe SSD in India starting at Rs. 7300

Western Digital, popular makers of digital storage products has introduced their next generation NVMe SSD called the WD Blue SN550 NVMe SSD. The SSD boasts speeds up to 4 times faster than their SATA SSDs at 2,400 MB/s read speeds. The SSD will come in sizes ranging from 250GB to 1TB. The SSD uses a PCIe Gen 3 connection in the M.2 2280 form factor. Following the NVMe protocol along with a Western Digital-designed controller and firmware, the SSD boasts speeds upto 2400MB/s read and 1950MB/s write speeds. These speeds, when compared to SATA SSDs,  make it ideal for creators who want high performing drives for working with 4K/8K video, large document files or other storage-intensive applications. Google announces timeline to kill Chrome apps in favour of Web apps

It was in 2016 when Google announced that it is planning on ending support and killing Chrome apps, in favour of the more advanced Web apps. Citing the advancement in web browsers and the web platform in general, Google has now confirmed the timeline for when they will stop accepting registration of new apps and when they will completely stop support for Chrome Apps. Chrome apps made an entry when Google launched back in 2013, during a time when they believed developers could build an experience comparable to a native application with Chrome apps. Since then, with the progression in modern web browser capabilities, the idea of separate Chrome apps has become irrelevant. In a blog post, Google announced the timeline they will follow in ending support for Chrome apps for different operating systems: March 2020: Chrome Web Store will stop accepting new Chrome Apps. Developers will be able to update existing Chrome Apps through June 2022. June 2020: End support for Chrome Apps on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Sony schedules MWC 2020 event on February 24, Xperia 5 Plus and more smartphones expected

Sony has started sending out invites for its MWC 2020 event on February 24th in Barcelona. This year’s invite just has an image that shows something like sky line. The invite doesn’t give us any other hints about the smartphone. Last year at the MWC the company introduce Xperia 1 flagship smartphone along with Xperia L3, Sony Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus. Based on a recent render, the company might introduce Xperia 5 Plus with a 6.6-inch OLED display, quad rear cameras including  a time-of-flight (ToF) sensor, 8MP front camera, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, 3.5mm jack and dual front-firing speakers. It is also expected to introduce a mid-range smartphone powered by Snapdragon 765. Shopping on your smartphone with Google Search now easier with new update

Google Search has now received an update that enables a faster and easier shopping experience for users. Users who wish to shop for clothes, shoes and accessories can Google Search to see these items from across the web and different stores all in one place on Search on your mobile device. With the new update, users can simply search for terms like "running shoes”,“womens leather belt” or “wide leg pants. Google will identify popular products related to the search term, and put them all together in a new section on Search. Users will have the option of filtering products by style, department and size type, along with the option of seeing multiple images of a product. There will be a direct link to the store page if the user wishes to learn more about the product. The feature is designed to be a one stop location when shopping for these items, pulling in results from multiple stores across the web. Reviews for these products will also be readily available with scroll down from the product page. By indexing and organising millions of stores, Google has made it easier for users to find the product they are looking for on the web. Source

HUAWEI sold over 240 million smartphones including 6.7 million 5G phones in 2019

Being on the US entity list has apparently not affected the Chinese smartphone giant HUAWEI in selling Android Smartphones worldwide. HUAWEI has sold over 240 million smartphone devices in 2020 alone with the Mate and P series seeing a growth of over 50% Y0Y. In the 5G market too, HUAWEI reported impressive numbers of 6.9 million 5G smartphones sold. Despite facing pressure from the US government to stop American companies from dealing with HUAWEI, they have managed to perform well in 2019. They introduced alternatives to Google Play services and has committed to developing the ecosystem further and making it more robust. HUAWEI also reported strong numbers for 5G smartphone sales worldwide; with over 6.9 million devices sold. They launched multiple devices, primarily in China, from their flagship Mate 30 Pro 5G all the way down to a more budget HONOR V30 Pro and HONOR V30. Focusing on the China market has really helped HUAWEI navigate the ban from US very effectively.
