Realme X50 5G with 6.57-inch FHD+ 120Hz display, Snapdragon 765G, 64MP quad rear cameras, dual in-screen front cameras announced

realme just announced X50 5G, the company's first 5G smartphone at an event in China as it had promised. It packs a 6.57-inch FHD+ LCD screen with 120Hz refresh rate and 90.48% screen to body ratio and the punch-hole screen houses a 16MP camera as well as an 8MP 105° ultra-wide sensor, is powered by Snapdragon 765G with up to 12GB RAM and support for built-in 5G stand alone and non-stand alone (SA/NSA) sub-6GHz networks. It features 8mm liquid-cooled copper pipe 3.0 for improved heat dissipation. The X50 features quad rear cameras that includes a 64-megapixel primary rear camera with 1/1.72″ Samsung GW1 sensor and f/1.8 aperture, 8MP 119° ultra-wide angle lens, 12-megapixel telephoto lens for 20x hybrid zoom and 2MP macro sensor. It has a 3D glass back with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, features side-mounted fingerprint scanner that can unlock the phone within a second, features Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res audio certification,  but it doesn't have a 3.5mm audio jack. It packs a 4200mAh battery with 30W VOOC Flash Charge 4.0 fast charging that can charge the phone up to 70% in 30 minutes. Redmi Note 8 Pro users report OTP issue in India; will be fixed in the next update [Update: Fix rolling out]

Update: January 6, 2020 — Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 11.0.4.0 update that fixes the OTP issue. It might take some time to roll out to everyone. Earlier: Xiaomi's Redmi brand launched the Redmi Note 8 Pro back in October this year and it got the company started rolling out MIUI 11.0.3.0.PGGINXM earlier this month. But after this update, several users have reported issues with receiving OTP and proximity sensor. Redmi Note 8 Pro users on MIUI 11.0.3.0.PGGINXM have reported issues with receiving OTP (One Time Password) messages. We tested the same on our unit too (8GB +128GB variant) with Airtel SIM and there was a delay in getting the OTPs delivered, and with Jio SIM, users have reported that they aren't receiving the OTPs at all. It is a widespread issue and moderators in Mi Community have said that the issue has been reported to the relevant team and an update will be released soon to address the same. The tentative release date for the update is January 10th according to users who contacted Xiaomi's customer support. Sony’s upcoming flagship with 6.6-inch OLED display, quad rear cameras surface; could be Xperia 5 Plus

Sony announced the Xperia 5 smartphone with 21:9 OLED display, triple rear cameras and the company recently rolled out Android 10 for the same. Following that launch, now, the renders successor to the Xperia 5 has surfaced - Sony Xperia 5 Plus along with key specifications. According to the renders, Sony Xperia 5 Plus is said to sport a boxy design with metal to the sides and is said to flaunt a flat 6.6-inch OLED display. The display resolution and aspect ratio is known yet but considering the Xperia 5 sports an FHD+ 21:9 display, we can expect the Xperia 5 Plus to sport a 21:9 display as well. Samsung has launched Chromebook laptops with Chrome OS in the past like the Chromebook 4, Chromebook 4+,  Plus V2, and more. Now, the company is expanding its lineup of Chromebook with the launch of its new Galaxy Chromebook 2-in-1 running Chrome OS. RedmiBook laptops could launch in India soon as Xiaomi files trademark

Xiaomi's Redmi brand introduced the RedmiBook 13 and RedmiBook 14 Pro laptops last year in China and a lot of users in India were waiting for the company to launch its lineup of laptops here. The wait seems to end soon finally as the RedmiBook trademark has been filed in India and the company could launch laptops in India soon. The trademark has been spotted on the Government of India website under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The listing reads "Wordmark: RedmiBook, Proprietor: Xiaomi Inc.," along with the Application Number and other details. This clearly indicates that Redmi could be launching its laptop(s) lineup in India soon. It is to be seen if the company would launch only the RedmiBook 13 laptop which was announced in China recently or also bring the RedmiBook 14 Pro laptop which was announced earlier last year.
