Twitter pauses inactive account deletion after strong feedback from users

Just yesterday, Twitter had reported that they will be removing inactive accounts from its site for users who haven't logged in more than 6 months. But after receiving a ton of feedback from the user base in regards to user accounts of those who are dead, Twitter has decided to pause the inactive account removal process. At the moment, Twitter has no method of memorialising an account after a user died. Facebook is known to have had this feature for a long time now. This basically allowed the user account to be continued as a memory account, managed by a close relative or friend of the user. Twitter never had this feature. When Twitter announced that they will be purging accounts that have not been signed into for more than 6 months, there was a lot of backlash from the community in regards as to what would happen to the accounts of their deceased loved ones. This impacts accounts in the EU only, for now. We’ve always had an inactive account policy but we haven’t enforced it consistently. We’re starting with the EU in part due to local privacy regulations (eg, GDPR). — Twitter Support (@TwitterSupport) November 27, 2019 Today, in a series of tweets ...

Realme releases kernel source code for realme X2 Pro

realme announced its most premium and flagship offering realme X2 Pro at an event in India last week. The company has already announced Android 10 update roadmap for its devices and recently announced beta testers recruitment for realme UI based on ColorOS 7. Now, the company has released kernel sources for realme X2 Pro, so there are good chances that we see Android 10 based custom ROMs for the smartphone in the coming months. The company has also updated its Bootloader unlock tool, thus realme X2 Pro users can now unlock the bootloader of their devices but unlocking bootloader will erase all the data on the device and also downgrade the Widevine certification level to L3 from L1, so users will no longer be able to enjoy HD content on apps like Hotstar, Amazon Prime Videos, and Netflix. The in-display fingerprint sensor will stop working after unlocking the bootloader until relocked again and bootloader unlocking might affect OTA updates as well, users will also not get official OTA updates as unlocking makes the secure data partition inaccessible. The company says that bootloader unlocking and flashing a custom ROM will not affect the warranty of the device. Users are supposed to visit the service center in case ...
