LG PuriCare Mini world’s first filter-type portable air purifier starts rolling out globally

LG has started rolling out PuriCare Mini globally, after it was introduced in  Hong Kong a few months back. It says that this is the world’s first filter-type portable air purifier. The LG PuriCare Mini is not only highly efficient, it’s also fast, cleaning 50 percent of the air inside a car in 10 minutes offering Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) of 13m2/hr. It features LG’s 4-Step Air Filtration System to detect and remove 99 percent particulates as small as 0.3 μm. The first step involves the PM1.0 Sensor which quickly and accurately detects the quality of the air Dual Inverter Motor forcibly draws in the air at 5,000rpm in the second step. Kerala government’s KFON project to provide high speed internet by December 2020

The Kerala government has green lit the Kerala-Fiber Optic Network (K-Fon) project that will provide free high speed internet connection to over 20 Lakh Below Poverty Line (BPL) families. The $1548 crore project is estimated to be completed by December 2020 and will be built by a group led by Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL). The project, financed by the KIIFB, is part of a program by the state to provide high speed internet access to all citizens. The program is aimed at giving a push to the digitization of government services like the e-health programs, IT parks, airports and seaports. The program will also provide Net connectivity at affordable rate for families which do not fall in the BPL bracket. It will be set up by the Kerala State Electricity Board Limited and Kerala State IT Infrastructure Limited and will link houses and over 30000 government offices and educational institutions. The network, once built, will be open to utilization for licensed Internet service providers and cable TV operators. Vivo rolls out new manufacturing facility in India; begins annual production of 8.4 million units

Vivo has just announced the roll-out of its new manufacturing facility in Uttar Pradesh, as part of its approximately Rs. 7,500 crore investment plan in India. This is phase 1 roll-out and the company will begin Phase II expansion from mid-2020. The new manufacturing facility is located at WTC Tech zone, Greater Noida, UPA and at its existing manufacturing set up, vivo is producing approximately 25 million units. With the new manufacturing facility, the company will be able to produce an additional 8.4 million units, making it a total of more than 33 million devices annually. The company also said that it has added over 2000 workforce at its new manufacturing facility and as a part of long term plan, the company plans to boost the economic growth for Indian smartphone sector. Also, as part of the Phase II expansion, the company plans to add approximately 5000+ employees, taking the total employment in vivo manufacturing facilities to approximately 15,000 employees. Microsoft Windows 10 latest preview brings new Quick Searches feature and updated design for web preview

Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 Preview Build 18999 (20H1) last month and following that, now Microsoft has started rolling out Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 19018 (20H1) to Fast ring testers. The latest preview includes general improvements, bug fixes, and also brings new Quick Searches feature. The new Quick Searches feature in Search Home includes 4 new options like Weather, Top news, Today in history, and New movies. Weather gives users information on current conditions and the upcoming forecast, Top news enables users to read the latest headlines from popular news sites, Today in history allows users to explore four events that happened on this day, and lastly, New movies allows users to find out what’s playing in theatres near them. Users have to select the search box to open Search Home, then choose one of the quick search buttons in order to preview these web answers and results. This preview build also brings an updated design for web preview in search results. Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3a series get Astrophotography with Google Camera v7.2 update

Google had confirmed earlier that Pixel 3 series would get Astrophotography, that was announced along with Pixel 4. The update is now coming out for Pixel devices via Google Camera v7.2 through the play store, up from the Google Camera v6.3. The features in this update is not the same for every Pixel device. Astrophotography is only available to Pixel 3 and 3a series and not the older devices. But every Pixel device gets the new UI changes with new sliders for exposure and zoom. These are not the same dual-exposure sliders that the Pixel 4 have for extra control in HDR photos. The controls at the top for timer, flash, and HDR controls has been replaced with an arrow, giving the UI a cleaner look. Clicking the arrow will open a menu with options for HDR, RAW, Motion, Timer, Flash and aspect ratio, along with a button to access more setting for the camera app. Although first gen Pixel and Pixel 2 series will not officially get Astrophotography capabilites, a user named cstark27 on XDA developers has created a mod apk file of Google Camera to unofficial enable this feature.
