Dropbox Transfer with up to 100GB file transfer support rolling out widely
Dropbox has made delivering files to users and clients easier now with the introduction of Dropbox Transfer, which is rolling out for all, after beta testing it back in July. The feature lets users create a single link for large files (up to 100GB), share it with anyone without the hassle of giving people edit access to originals and links that let people download updates you make later. Users can select files directly from Dropbox or upload them from their local hard drive. Dropbox has also added password protection and the ability to set an expiration date for the link that gets generated. Once the link is sent, Dropbox's viewership stats will let the user see how many times the transfer's been accessed. Dropbox transfer will be available cross platform, that is, Dropbox desktop and iOS apps in addition to dropbox.com. Users will also have the ability to add a background and logo to the files in their pro plans. Microsoft Edge Browser gets Microsoft Search in Bing, Tracking Prevention and more
Microsoft has announced new updates to its Edge browser and Bing search engine. The updates are designed to improve compatibility to Edge while increasing the capabilities to find and access corporate information that is known to exist on company intranets. Microsoft has also released a host of features for IT professionals. Microsoft updated the Edge logo to reflect the design changes that will "capture the waves of innovation". The new browser, running on the same Chromium web engine as Google’s Chrome browser, will contain a new feature called Tracking prevention. Turned on at the beginning, the setting is aimed at protecting the user from phishing schemes, malicious software and new types of malware like cryptojacking. Microsoft is also testing new features in its Preview Build such as Collections. It will allow the customer to more easily collect web content, organize your research and export that content into Word and Excel for further analysis and collaboration. Xiaomi just announced its Mi TV 5 series at an event in China, as it had promised. These come in 55-inch, 65-inch and 75-inch models with Quantum Dot 4K QLED panels and the frame is 47.1% narrower than the Mi TV 4 series offering high screen-to-body ratio for an immersive experience. It has a metal body with integrated curved frame so the back plate has no screws. The 55-inch model just 5.9mm at its thinnest point, 65-inch is 6mm and the 75-inch model is 9.9mm. Similar to the Mi Full Screen TV Pro, this has Amologic T972 12nm chip with support for 8K video playback, thanks to 9th generation of image quality engine technology. There is also MEMC motion compensation technology and support for HDR 10+. These have two-channel two-way design, the left and right channels contain two vocal and woofer units, which improve the acoustic response curve by optimizing the acoustic waveguide structure, reducing the sound caused to the TV's body. Xiaomi announced the latest iteration of its own proprietary Android skin MIUI, dubbed MIUI 11 along with the Redmi Note 8 series at an event in India. MIUI 11 aims to bring a brand new optimized modern UI design focused on content viewing and has also introduced nifty additions specifically for India. The company has almost completed MIUI 11 rollout for the first phase of devices and has already started testing MIUI Stable Beta for the second batch of devices. In recent weeks, quite a few unannounced HUAWEI devices surfaced in renders and now, three new HUAWEI devices have surfaced which also includes a tablet too. Latest renders of HUAWEI MatePad Pro tablet with dual rear cameras, in-screen front camera, stylus have surfaced alongside the renders of HUAWEI P Smart 2020 and HUAWEI Nova 6 smartphones. According to the render images, HUAWEI's upcoming tablet is said to be called MatePad Pro and is said to sport hole-punch/in-screen front camera to the top left corner, dual rear cameras and the bezels are also said to be minimal. The fingerprint scanner is not visible on the rear of the tablet, so we can expect it to sport an in-display fingerprint scanner and the tablet is said to feature a USB Type-C port flanked by speaker grille on either side.
