macOS Catalina 10.15.1 confirms existence of 16-inch MacBook Pro with updated Touch Bar and Touch ID layout
Earlier this year, there was a report that suggested Apple will launch 16-inch MacBook Pro this year and there were rumours about it for months now. Now, macOS Catalina 10.5.1 update that was released recently with support for AirPods Pro, new emoji, etc confirms the existence of 16-inch MacBook Pro with updated Touch Bar and Touch ID layout. The images found in macOS 10.15.1 update confirm that the 16-inch MacBook Pro will feature Touch ID power button that is separate from the Touch Bar and it is different from the 15-inch MacBook Pro which has Touch ID positioned along with the Touch Bar. There is also a possibility of Apple including a dedicated ESC key in the 16-inch MacBook Pro. The reference images of 16-inch MacBook Pro that were found in macOS Catalina 10.15.1 beta update is not present in the final update now. There are chances that Apple might not launch the new MacBook Pro anytime soon according to previous rumours. Vodafone mulling an exit from Indian market as losses mount: Report
Vodafone India, owned by British company Vodafone Plc and Aditya Birla Group’s telecom arm Idea Cellular merged to become Vodafone Idea Limited last year. The merger was expected to generate Rs. 140 billion annual synergy, however due to competition, Vodafone started losing lakhs of subscribers every month, and the losses keep mounting. Now a new report from IANS says that Vodafone is in talks to exit from the Indian market. The reports says, Vodafone is ready to "pack up and leave any day now." This could be due to mounting operating losses. The group has about Rs. 1.18 lakh crore of net debt, mounting losses and it has been losing subscribers as per TRAI data. In addition, a recent Supreme Court judgement on Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) said that Vodafone Idea will have to pay around Rs 28,308 crore (Rs. 19,823 crore for Vodafone Group and Rs. 8,485 crore from Idea Cellular) in three months. Razer has announced two new products; the Razer Junglecat and the Razer Hammerhead True Wireless earbuds. The Razer Jungle cat is a dual-sided mobile gaming controller with dual configuration for both mobile and desktop play. The Razer Hammerhead, on the other hand, are a pair of truly wireless, Bluetooth 5.0, ultra-low latency, high audio quality earbuds. The Razer Junglecat come with twin analog thumbsticks and bumper buttons on each side, the left side sports a 4-way d-pad whilst the right completes the combo with 4 extra action buttons. Samsung’s Q3 2019 profits down 55.7% YoY, mobile profits up 31.5% YoY due to strong Galaxy Note 10 and A series sales
Samsung has reported its earnings for Q3 2019 that ended September 30, 2019, in which the company has made operating profit of 7.78 trillion won, down 55.7% YoY. This due to continued weakness in the memory chip market, even with stronger smartphone sales and improved utilization in mobile OLED screens, said Samsung. It reported revenue of 62 trillion won, down 5.2% YoY from 65.46 trillion won last year. IM sector that includes Mobile Communications and Networks Businesses posted 29.25 trillion won consolidated revenue, up 17.4% YoY and 2.92 trillion won operating profit for the quarter, up 31.5% compared to 2.22 trillion won in the same quarter last year. Samsung’s smartphone shipments increased QoQ led by strong sales of the Note10 and A Series, along with improved margins for mass-market models. Network Business reported higher earnings YoY on growing commercialization of 5G service in Korea. The Company expects fourth-quarter earnings in the Mobile Business to decrease QoQ as marketing costs are set to rise and shipments to decline slightly, with flagship model sales weakening from their post-launch peaks, but A Series (including upcoming models) is expected to keep performing solidly. Realme confirms Android 10 update roadmap, roll out begins in 2020 [Update: X2 (XT 730G) and X2 Pro added]
At the realme XT launch event the company revealed roadmap for Android 10 roll out for its smartphones. The roll out begins Q1 2020 and will continue through Q3 2020. The company did not reveal any details about the realme OS, but the Android 10 update will likely come with realmeOS.
