LG K50S with 6.5-inch FullVision display, triple rear cameras and K40S with military-level durability announced

LG has announced K50s and K40s smartphones in the K series ahead of IFA 2019, after the K50 and K40 were introduced at the MWC earlier this year. These phones have a 19.5:9 aspect ratio HD+ FullVision Display, are MIL-STD-810G compliant that can withstand impact, vibration, high temperature, low temperature, thermal shock, and humidity, are powered by 2GHz Octa-Core SoC, feature rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and have a dedicated Google Assistant button. The LG K50S sports three rear cameras: 13MP with PDAF, 5MP Super Wide Angle, and 2MP lens with Depth Sensor, while the LG K40S has 13MP lens with PDAF and 5MP Super Wide Angle.  These also have a 13-megapixel front camera. These have 4,000mAh and 3,500mAh batteries, respectively, slightly bigger than the predecessor. These have DTS:X 3D Surround Sound that simulates a 7.1-channel surround sound system to make any content more immersive when playing games, streaming movies or music via earphones. Nokia 7.2 live image with circular triple rear camera module surfaces ahead of IFA announcement

HMD Global launched Nokia 7.1 with HDR PureDisplay, Dual rear cameras with Zeiss optics and more last year. The leaks and rumours of its successor Nokia 7.2 have started surfacing and now, the first live image of Nokia 7.2 has surfaced showing off the rear of the device and revealing other details. In a pre-briefing organized for some media and tech reporters by HMD Global, Nokia 7.2 was demonstrated to them ahead of the official launch next month. Joachim Kuss, head of communications for Zeiss Group says that he is overwhelmed with the camera capabilities of Nokia 7.2 and also tweeted a picture of Nokia 7.2, revealing the rear of the device. Nokia 7.2 features a circular camera module that houses three cameras and a LED flash. It could be a combination of 48MP primary sensor + a wide-angle sensor + a depth-sensing unit. The photo also reveals a physical fingerprint scanner that is positioned below the circular camera module. The smartphone is expected to sport a 6.3-inch FHD+ display with HDR10 support, paired with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. It will likely be unveiled next month at IFA 2019 along with Nokia 6.2. Redmi Note 8 Pro will be powered by Helio G90T SoC confirms MediaTek

Earlier today Xiaomi's Redmi brand confirmed that it will introduce the Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro smartphones in China on August 29th. Now MediaTek has confirmed that its latest Helio G90T 12nm SoC will power the Redmi Note 8 Pro, as rumored earlier. The Redmi Note 8 could be powered by Helio G90. HONOR Gamepad gaming accessory with physical joystick and 6 action buttons announced

At the ongoing Gamescom 2019 event, HONOR has announced its new gaming accessory -HONOR Gamepad. Alongside the announcement of the Gamepad, HONOR has also made a few gaming-related announcements at Gamescom 2019. HONOR Gamepad is a controller for smartphones and connects to a phone through USB Type-C cable. The connection via USB Type-C cable is only for charging and it connects through Bluetooth for gaming. It comes with a 400mAh battery and can charge the smartphone while gaming and if needed, it can also draw power from the smartphone. The Gamepad features a joystick, customisable 4 D-pad buttons, shoulder button, and an extra button. It is not clear if it is compatible only with HONOR smartphones, but the adjustable size seems to be compatible with other smartphones too. Airtel rebrands Airtel TV app to Airtel XStream; XStream smart box and XStream smart stick launching soon

Airtel updated the 'Airtel TV' app with a refreshed UI back in 2017 with Live TV channels, Regional and International content and more. Airtel also launched 'XStream' web version recently and now, it has rebranded the Airtel TV app to Airtel XStream and the company has also is also launching new streaming devices in the country soon. Airtel XStream aims to offer an enhanced streaming experience, refreshed UI along with other new features. The refreshed UI has a dark theme along with an improved Live TV to offer users a buffer and lag-free experience. The Features, Live TV, TV Shows, Movies and Premium categories are still present and the app also prompts users to upgrade to Airtel XStream Premium where it offers 100s of Premium content, according to the company. Airtel has also signed a deal with TV18 and Turner India and with this addition, there is a total of 383 live channels in Airtel XStream's Live TV. Gmail gets AI-powered spelling and grammar correction capabilities

Google already offers Smart Compose feature in Gmail that uses artificial intelligence to help you draft emails from a lot faster. Now the company is adding new spelling and grammar correction capabilities for Gmail to help users compose emails quickly without worrying about the mistakes.  Using artificial intelligence, Google will be able to recognize errors and suggest corrections as work is getting done. This was first introduced for Google Docs earlier this year.  For some common spelling mistakes, Google has also added as-you-type autocorrection for improved accuracy. You’ll now see inline spelling and contextual grammar suggestions in your draft emails as you type. If you’ve made a grammar mistake, a squiggly blue line will appear under the phrase as you write it. You can choose to accept the suggestion by clicking it or undo the correction. This feature is already rolling out for G Suit users gradually, which will continue over the next two weeks.  It will be ON by default and can be disabled in Gmail settings. Google Go lightweight search app now available for all Android users worldwide

After testing Search Lite app, Google launched the Google Go search app in India and Indonesia targeted at entry Android (Go edition) devices. Today the company has announced that the app is available for all Android phones (Android Lollipop or later) worldwide from the Google Play Store. Google Go is about 7MB, offers search results that are optimized to save up to 40% data, works even on slow connections, has lightweight version of Lens feature to translate and search the words you see by using your camera, offers an AI-powered read-out-loud feature that lets you listen to any web page, with words highlighted as they’re read so you can follow along, and easily and quickly access your favorite apps and websites, as well as images, videos and information on the things.
