Huawei introduces EMUI 10 based on Android Q, beta roll out begins in September

HUAWEI just announced EMUI 10, the new major UI refresh based on Android 10 (Q) for HUAWEI and HONOR devices at the HUAWEI Developer's Conference (HDC) 2019 today in China. EMUI 10 will bring over 60% improvements in GPU Turbo, over 70% improvements in Turbo Link, and over 20% improvements in EROFS (Extendable Read-Only File System) ROM. EMUI 10 will offer multi-device interoperability, allowing users to experience convenient conversations throughout the OS. You can easily make 1080P HD video calls with other Huawei devices, connect your friends with Huawei AI speakers and use your mobile phone to dial your home's smart screen to video chat with your family. HUAWEI announces HarmonyOS open source operating system for smartphones and smart devices

HUAWEI just announced HarmonyOS, the company's own open source operating system for smartphones, tablets and smart IoT devices such as smart speakers, computers, smartwatches, wireless earbuds, cars and more. This was announced at the HUAWEI Developer's Conference (HDC) 2019 in China today. CEO Richard Yu said that the HarmonyOS is the first microkernel-based distributed OS for all scenarios and was created with four major building blocks in mind, ensuring a new generation OS that is best suited for the digital world today. The HarmonyOS microkernel can be scaled on demand for wider system security. The Microkernel does away with root access to protect system security from the source compared to Android. It is built with a deterministic latency engine that gives a smooth interactive experience, so the latency is at a minimum; bringing fluid interactive experience to the maximum. HarmonyOS will have a verified TEE (Trusted Execution Environment) which improves connected security across multiple smart devices in a connected all-scenario world. HarmonyOS can be nested to adapt flexibly to any device to create a seamless cross-device experience. Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Octa-Core SoC gets benchmarked, beats Apple A12 Bionic in multi-core performance

Details about the upcoming Snapdragon 865 SoC from Qualcomm surfaced back in May, later in June, another rumor said that it will  come in two versions condenamed ‘Kona’ and ‘Huracan’, one with integrated X55 5G modem and the other one without it. Now the Snapdragon 865 'Kona' SoC has surfaced on Geekbench. The prototype device runs Android 10 'Q' and the phone has 6GB of RAM. This has registered a score of 4160 points for single-core and 12946 for Multi-Core. The single core score is way better than Snapdragon 855 and 855 Plus, which is around 3600, but this couldn't beat the Apple A12 Bionic on iPhone XS series and the XR that scored over 4700 points and the latest Exynos 9825 SoC on the Galaxy Note 10 series that scored around 4500 points. However, the Multi-Core performance is better than the Apple A12 Bionic and Snapdragon 855 Plus which is around 11200, and it is way better than the Exynos 9825, which is around 10500.  Apple should launch its next-generation A13 SoC that will power its 2019 iPhones that will be unveiled next month. Google Maps gets Reservations tab, updated timeline in latest update; Live View beta expands to Android and iOS

Google Maps has been getting new features off-late like India focussed Explore tab, live trains status, Stay Safer and more. Similarly, today Google is introducing new tools to Google Maps that aims to simplify every step of the user's trip once they have touched down alongside helping users to navigate, explore, and get things done at home. Motorola One Zoom with Quad rear cameras, AMOLED display, in-display fingerprint sensor surfaces

Recently, press renders of Motorola One Pro, the company’s upcoming Android One smartphone with four cameras arranged in a square, a waterdrop notch screen,dual-tone LED flash, Dual OIS and more surfaced. But, now according to a new report, the smartphone is said to be called Motorola One Zoom, not Motorola One Pro and the report reveals key details on the unannounced Motorola One Zoom smartphone. According to the report, Motorola One Zoom is said to feature a quad-camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor with quad-pixel technology that combines four pixels into one pixel to produce an image of 12MP resolution. A wide-angle lens, a telephoto lens with 5x magnification, and a dedicated depth sensor are expected alongside the 48MP primary sensor. It also reveals that the Motorola One Zoom will sport 6.2-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a waterdrop style notch. OnePlus 4K LED TV in 43-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch with Android TV platform, Bluetooth 5.0 surfaces

Late last year, OnePlus revealed that they are working on their first Smart TV with a premium design and OnePlus' Pete Lau shared more details about the OnePlus TV as well. On similar lines, now, Bluetooth SIG listing reveals key details regarding the OnePlus TV including the screen sizes, display, operating system and more. OnePlus TV is said to come in 43-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch display sizes and will sport a 4K LED panel. Bluetooth SIG lists about 40 models of OnePlus TV with the description as "Unique Android TV" suggesting that the TV might run on Android operating system. It is also expected to support Bluetooth 5.0. The model number listed contains country code like IN, CN, and US suggesting that the models might differ based on the country. The listing also suggests that the 43-inch model with model number 43Q2IN, 43U2IN will be sold only in India while the 75-inch model is expected to be sold in the US and China. If OnePlus indeed follows the naming scheme, India might not get the 75-inch model. Realme 64MP quad camera phone to launch in India before Diwali; two more quad camera phones coming this year

Realme, at its 'Camera Innovation Event' announced that it will launch its 64MP camera phone with quad rear cameras in India before Diwali. It also announced that quad camera is coming to realme series, realme pro series and realme X series, so the phones should be realme 5, realme 5 pro and realme X Pro, based on the teaser. Features of quad camera includes Super wide angle, Ultra Macro, Telephoto lens, Expert mode and more. Some features such as Nightscape and Chrome Boost is already available in existing realme phones. The 64MP phone will use 1/72″ 0.8-micrometer (μm) pixel 64MP ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor. It said that it has worked closely with Samsung to bring the best of 64MP camera. The company also posted some lab samples with the Redmi K20 Pro to show the 64MP camera phone from Realme is better, and some macro samples shot using the macro sensor. Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL said to feature 90Hz ‘Smooth Display’ and 6GB RAM

There have been a lot of leaks and renders of the upcoming Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL and recently Google confirmed Soli-powered Face Unlock, 'Motion Sense' gestures on these phones. On similar lines, a new report reveals the specifications of the upcoming Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL. Google Pixel 4 is said to sport a 5.7-inch Full HD+ OLED display, Pixel 4 XL is said to sport a larger 6.3-inch Quad HD OLED display and both the displays will have 90Hz refresh rate and Google is expected to name it 'Smooth Display'.
