Xiaomi will reveal ‘future of imaging technology’ on August 7, Redmi 64MP Quad camera tech expected

After Realme announced its 'Camera Innovation Event' in India on August 8th to reveal details about 64MP Quad Camera tech on a smartphone, Xiaomi today announced an event on August 7th in China to reveal the future of imaging technology. This will likely be the company's 64MP camera technology that it confirmed last month. It is also expected to announce new imaging laboratory of Xiaomi and Meitu. Xiaomi is expected to combine some exclusive patents of Meitu in its AI imaging technology. The company already confirmed that the 64MP phone will have quad rear cameras, and a single 64MP image will have 20MB file size offering better resolution to that of an 8K TV. This will likely use Samsung's 64MP ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor that uses Pixel-merging Tetracell technology and the remosaic algorithm offers 16MP images in low-light environments where four pixels are merged to work as one to increase light sensitivity and highly-detailed 64Mp shots in brighter settings. It also supports real-time high dynamic range (HDR) of up to 100-decibels (dB) that provides richer hues. We should know more details about this new camera technology on Wednesday. Source

Samsung Exynos 9630 SoC said to be in the works, could power Galaxy A (2020) series

Right now, the South Korean giant Samsung is working on various projects ahead of its most awaited smartphone — Galaxy Note 10. One of them is the new chipset for its mid-range smartphone lineup. According to a new report, the company is working on Exynos 9630, a successor to the Exynos 9610 10nm SoC that was introduced last year. If the report turns out to be accurate, this upcoming chipset will be powering the Galaxy A series (2020) smartphones. The company recently filed trademarks for nine 'A series' phone — A11, A21, A31, A41, A51, A61, A71, A81 and A91 at EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office). At present, the information regarding the performance upgrades is a bit foggy, but there are chances that it could be manufactured on a smaller process, resulting in higher efficiency. Since the Exynos 9610 has been manufactured on the 10nm process, there are bright chances that Exynos 9630 might take advantage of the 8nm node. It could also pack an improved GPU compared to the ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU on the Exynos 9610 and a better ISP. We can expect more details in the coming weeks. Source
