Nokia 6.1 gets a price cut in India, now starts at Rs. 6999

Nokia 6.1 (Nokia 6 2018) was launched by HMD Global last year and initially, it was available only in 3GB RAM with 32GB storage variant. The 4GB RAM with 64GB storage model was launched later. The smartphone was selling starting at Rs. 8999 against its original launch price of Rs. 16999, but now Nokia 6.1 has received a Rs. 2000 price cut again in India. Nokia 6.1 3GB RAM with 32GB storage model is now selling at Rs. 6999 and the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage is now selling at Rs. 9999. The 3+32GB variant was originally launched at Rs. 16,999 and the 4+64GB variant was originally launched at Rs. 18,999. Ather 450 priced at Rs. 1.31 lakhs in Chennai, pre-orders begin July 9

Ather Energy already announced that it will launch the Ather 450 Electric scooter in Chennai, after Bengaluru last year. Few days back the company confirmed that it will be available for pre-order on 8th July for those who already registered interest, and on 9th July for other. On 6th and 7th July Ather is holding an exclusive event for pre-order interest folks who can meet the Ather Team, Ather 450 owners from Bengaluru and also Test ride the Ather 450, before pre-orders open and even before Ather Space opens. Today the company confirmed the price of the scooter for Chennai. The Ather 450 is priced at Rs. 1,31,683 on road in Chennai that includes FAME II subsidy for Rs. 27,000 (up from ₹22,000 under FAME I), GST, road tax, smart card fee, registration card, insurance and two helmets. This is more than the price in Bengaluru, which is due to local taxes. Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2019) with 8-inch display, 4G LTE, dual speakers, 5100mAh battery announced

Samsung has just announced its new Galaxy Tab A 8-inch (2019) (SM-T290) model and this does not come with an S-Pen that was present in the model launched in March this year. This new Galaxy Tab A 8.0 2019 sports a metallic design, dual speakers, 5100 mAh battery and more. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8-inch(2019) sports a 16:10 TFT display with a resolution of 1280 x 800, measures 210 x 124.4 x 8 mm and weighs 347g. It is powered by a 12nm quad core Snapdragon 429 Mobile Platform and comes with 2GB RAM with 32GB storage which can be further expanded up to 512GB through microSD. Motorola P50 with 6.3-inch FHD+ 21:9 display, 25MP in-screen front camera, 48MP rear camera announced

Motorola, owned by Lenovo recently launched the 'Motorola One Vision' smartphone with 21:9 display, 25MP in-screen front camera and more in India. Today, the company has launched the One Vision smartphone as Motorola P50 in China with few changes. Motorola P50 is mostly similar to Motorola One Vision and the design, processor, camera, etc remain the same. However, Motorola P50 is for the Chinese market and does not come with Android One that was present on Motorola One Vision and the P50 is offered only in a single variant i.e., 6GB RAM with 128GB storage. It is also unlikely that the company will sell this smartphone outside the China market with 'Motorola P50' branding. ASUS ROG Phone 2 with 120Hz display to be announced on July 23

Update: July 5, 2019 — Today the company has announced that the ROG Phone 2 will be announced on July 23rd in China. In addition to 120Hz display, 3C certification revealed 30W fast charging. Vivo launched the Z1Pro smartphone in India earlier this week starting at Rs. 14,990. We already brought you the unboxing and first impressions of the phone, here we have the camera samples from the phone. Samsung and LG earnings guidance reveal decline in profits in Q2 2019

Korean giants Samsung and LG reported earnings guidance for the second quarter of 2019. Both the companies have reported drop in profits for the quarter. Samsung expects revenue of 56 trillion Korean won in Q2 2019, compared to 58.48 trillion Korean won a year ago, and an operating profit of 6.5 trillion Korean won, compared to 14.87 trillion Korean won YoY, which is down 56.2% YoY. This would be Samsung’s lowest profit since Q3 2016. Samsung blames weaker demand for memory chip and display panels. LG Q2 preliminary earnings results LG has also announced preliminary earnings results for the second quarter of 2019. It expects 652.2 billion operating profit, down 15.4% compared to 771 billion won in Q2 2018, and 15.6 trillion revenue, up 3.8% compared to 15.02 trillion won compared to the same quarter last year. According to analysts, reason for decline in profits is mainly due to its sluggish smartphone business, which has been the case for the company for the past few quarters.
