ASUS ROG Phone 2 with 120Hz display to be announced on July 23
Update: July 5, 2019 — Today the company has announced that the ROG Phone 2 will be announced on July 23rd in China. In addition to 120Hz display, 3C certification revealed 30W fast charging. Update: June 11, 2019 — The company has confirmed that the ROG Phone 2 will feature 120Hz display. This was first introduced in the Razer Phone 2 last year. Earlier: After rumors back in April about the launch of successor of the ROG Phone in Q3 2019, AUS has confirmed that the ROG Phone 2 will be introduced in July. The company has announced a partnership with Tecent Games Tencent Games in China for in-depth optimization of game content according to the hardware, providing users a better game experience. We still don't have any of the specifications of the ROG Phone 2, but we can see an improved display, Snapdragon 855 with up to 10GB or 12GB RAM, 512GB storage, improved GameCool system, better cameras and a bigger battery with support for fast charging. Vivo Z1Pro Camera Samples
Vivo launched the Z1Pro smartphone in India earlier this week starting at Rs. 14,990. We already brought you the unboxing and first impressions of the phone, here we have the camera samples from the phone. The Z1Pro packs a 16-megapixel primary rear camera with Sony IMX499 sensor, f/1.78 aperture, 8-megapixel 120° wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture and 2-megapixel camera with f/2.4 aperture to capture depth information in portrait shots. It has a 32-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture, which is housed inside 4.59mm small camera hole in the screen. Samsung and LG earnings guidance reveal decline in profits in Q2 2019
Korean giants Samsung and LG reported earnings guidance for the second quarter of 2019. Both the companies have reported drop in profits for the quarter. Samsung expects revenue of 56 trillion Korean won in Q2 2019, compared to 58.48 trillion Korean won a year ago, and an operating profit of 6.5 trillion Korean won, compared to 14.87 trillion Korean won YoY, which is down 56.2% YoY. This would be Samsung’s lowest profit since Q3 2016. Samsung blames weaker demand for memory chip and display panels. LG Q2 preliminary earnings results LG has also announced preliminary earnings results for the second quarter of 2019. It expects 652.2 billion operating profit, down 15.4% compared to 771 billion won in Q2 2018, and 15.6 trillion revenue, up 3.8% compared to 15.02 trillion won compared to the same quarter last year. According to analysts, reason for decline in profits is mainly due to its sluggish smartphone business, which has been the case for the company for the past few quarters. These companies did not announce the performance of each business division. We should know the exact profit amount and division-wise results when these release full earnings results later this month. The OPPO K3 pack a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED display from Samsung with 91.1% screen-to-body ratio, DC dimming, next-gen in-display fingerprint scanner that is 28.5% faster with 10% success rate in unlocking, is powered by Snapdragon 710 with up to 8GB of RAM, GameBoost 2.0, runs Android Pie with Color OS 6.0 on top, features a 16-megapixel rear camera along with a 2-megapixel secondary camera. Realme CEO takes a jab at Redmi 7A, calls Realme C2 ‘Desh ka Real Choice’
Just after the Redmi 7A launch in the country, Realme India CEO took it to Twitter to compare Realme C2 with 'Smartphone A' in a couple of tweets and referred to Realme C2 as 'Desh ka Real Choice' which was launched back in April. The specifications of the 'Smartphone A' in Madhav's tweets resemble that of Redmi 7A, which Xiaomi is promoting as 'Smart Desh ka Smartphone'. Lenovo has today launched its Smart Band Cardio 2 HX06H in India expanding its wearable lineup. The Smart Band sports an OLED display, is water resistant up to 50 meters, features a dynamic heart rate monitor, sleep monitor, sedentary reminder and more. The Smart Band Cardio 2 with the model number HX06H measures 23 x 23 x 7.3 cm, weighs 18.1g and sports a 0.87-inch OLED HD Ready display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and the display also shows smart notifications in a single glance. It features a detachable strap design with a built-in USB charging port that can be directly connected to a computer or USB port. But, today, the company has restored the hotspot to its original price of Rs. 2000 and has also introduced a cashback offer for Airtel Postpaid customers.
