Apple watchOS 6: Native App Store support, New Watch Faces, Activity Trends, audio API and more
At the ongoing WWDC event in San Jose, Apple took wraps off its latest version of watchOS i.e., watchOS 6. Apple has made changes to watchOS and also introduced new features to health and fitness, new dynamic watch faces, native App Store support and more. These new software features will be available in September 2019 for Apple Watch Series 1 or later. New Cycle tracking app, Noise app, and new Trends tab watchOS 6 brings a new Cycle tracking app for women which allows logging important information related to them. This feature is available on the Health app on iPhone running the latest iOS 13. Alongside the new Cycle tracking app, Apple is also introducing a new Noise app which when placed at an optimal position on the wrist, will help users understand the sound levels in environments and will send a notification to the user if the decibel level reaches 90 decibels. The Activity App has also got a new addition called 'Trends' which will give users a long-term view of their activity behavior to help them understand their progress. At the ongoing WWDC 2019 event in San Jose, Apple introduced its latest iOS 13, watchOS 6, tvOS 13 with new features and changes. tvOS 13 has now got some interesting features including a new home screen, new screensaver, Apple music lyrics, support for Xbox One and PS4 controllers and more. These features should be rolling out on Apple TV and Apple TV 4K sometime in September 2019. New home screen and multi-user support Apple is improving the recommendations on the tvOS 13 and now, all the users in the family will see a newly redesigned home screen that will offer them better recommendations. The apps on the new home screen will now play full-screen video previews. However, in order to get started with this, users in the home would require individual profiles, and they will start seeing content recommendations like TV shows, movie, music and more tailored for them. Apple is also allowing users to switch accounts, and they will also be able to sync devices, access settings and more right from the Control Center on the tvOS. The company doesn't give a hint of what to expect, but it is likely the One Vision Android One smartphone that was introduced at an event in Brazil last month. World’s first 8K OLED TV from LG goes up for pre-order this week
In a recent development, LG Electronics announced the start of sales of the world’s first 8K OLED TV (model 88Z9) with pre-orders for the 88-inch set starting this week in South Korea. As per the company, it will be available in North America and Europe in the third quarter of 2019. The TV employs an advanced panel with over 33 million self-emitting pixels to deliver LG OLED TV’s next level picture quality. According to the company claims images will be exceptionally sharp, which is equivalent to 16 times the number of pixels in full HD and four times that of UHD. Xiaomi and OPPO show off smartphones with under-display camera technology
After Xiaomi patent for a smartphone with under the display camera surfaced last week, Xiaomi has officially shared a video that shows a smartphone with an under the screen selfie camera. Xiaomi co-founder Bin on weibo shared that the video was shot last month using Mi 9 prototype with full-screen camera technology without any notch.
