Amazon Echo Show 5 with 5.5-inch display, HD camera launched in India for Rs. 8999

Amazon launched Echo Show with a 10-inch display, built-in smart home hub and more in India last month. Expanding the Echo Show lineup, Amazon has today launched Echo Show 5 with a 5.5-inch display, HD camera, rich sound and more. The new Echo Show 5 sports a 5.5-inch touchscreen, has dimensions of 148 x 86 x 73mm and weighs 410 grams. It is powered by MediaTek MT 8163 processor, has two microphones, has support for Dual-band Wi-Fi but does not support connecting to ad-hoc Wi-Fi networks. Amazon is highlighting the 'rich sound' feature on the new Echo Show 5 as it is equipped with a Full range 1.65-inch built-in speaker and also has 3.5 mm stereo audio output for use with external speakers. It also has a 1MP HD camera which is capable of recording 720p videos along with a built-in camera shutter. Amazon says that the built-in shutter allows the microphone and camera to be switched off with just a press of a button. Microsoft working on new ‘modern OS’ with seamless invisible background updates

Microsoft at the ongoing Computex 2019 dropped pretty big hints about the future of Windows operating system and also showcased Microsoft 365, Windows platform, Azure IoT technologies that device partners can use to deliver modern PC experiences and build a new generation of connected devices and IoT solutions. Microsoft says that the new modern PCs and innovative devices in the ecosystem will require a 'modern operating system' hinting at the future of the Windows operating system. The modern operating system will include 'enablers' like seamless updates where OS updates are invisibly done in the background. The software giant adds that the update experience will be deterministic, reliable, and instant without any interruptions. The modern OS will also be secure by default, which means that the state is separated from the operating system and compute is separated from applications. The OS will work with 5G and include a variety of inputs like pen, voice, touch, even gaze and enables cloud-connected experiences that use the compute power of the cloud to enhance users experiences on their devices. Dell announces new XPS 13 2-in 1, XPS 15 and Vostro laptops

At the ongoing Computex 2019 in Taipei, Taiwan, many OEMs including Asus, HP, Razer announced several new and refreshed laptops. In similar lines, Dell has also announced new and refreshed models of XPS 13 2-in 1, XPS 15 and Vostro laptops alongside new Inspiron PCs and Inspiron All-In-Ones. Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 The new XPS 13 2-in-1 flaunts a 13.4-inch 16:10 'UltraSharp '4K Ultra HD+ InfinityEdge touch display with a resolution of 3840 x 2400. It is powered by up to Intel's new 10th Gen Ice Lake processor, making it Dell's first laptop being powered by this chip. Samsung Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 Android Pie One UI update starts rolling out in India

After the Android Pie update for Galaxy M30 earlier this week, Samsung has started rolling out Android 9.0 (Pie) One UI 1.1 update for the Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 smartphones in India, few days before it had promised. These phones were launched in January running Android 8.1 (Oreo) with Samsung Experience 9.5. Realme X will be launched in India in second half of 2019 confirms CEO, price hinted

Realme has been teasing the launch of the company's latest realme X smartphone in India for later this year, after it was introduced in China earlier this month. YouTube launched its YouTube Music Premium and YouTube Premium  plans for India back in March starting at Rs. 99 per month. Today it has launched student plan, making to up to Rs. 50 cheaper. OnePlus 7 will go on sale in India from June 4

MediaTek 5G 7nm SoC with built-in Helio M70 5G multi-mode modem announced

MediaTek at the Computex 2019 in Taiwan today announced the company's first 5G SoC built using 7nm FinFET process technology and MediaTek Helio M70 5G modem built in. It uses the latest Cortex-A77 CPU, Mali-G77 GPU and MediaTek’s most advanced AI processing unit (APU).  The multi-mode 5G chipset is for 5G stand alone and non-stand alone (SA/NSA) sub-6GHz networks.
