Xiaomi has reported its earning for the first quarter (Q1 2019) that ended March 31, 2019. It has reported revenue of 43.8 billion yuan (US$ 6.33 billion) for Q1 2019, an increase of 27.2% YoY, among which international revenue grew 34.7% year-on-year to 16.8 billion yuan. Net profit for the quarter was approximately 3.2 billion yuan. Adjusted net profit (Non-IFRS Measure) was 2.1 billion yuan, up 22.4% YoY and 12.3% QoQ. Smartphones segment posted 27 billion yuan, up 16.2% year over year. Smartphone shipments reached 27.9 million units, almost same as previous year. Redmi Note 7 series shipments exceeded 4 million units and the Mi 9 series smartphones surpassed 1.5 million unit shipments. Xiaomi’s revenue from international markets grew 34.7% year-on-year to RMB16.8 billion. Revenue from IoT and lifestyle products segment rose by 56.5% to RMB12.0 billion Global shipments of the smart TVs reached 2.6 million units, representing a year-on-year growth of 99.8%. Number of connected IoT devices (excluding smartphones and laptops) on Xiaomi’s IoT platform reached approximately 171 million units, a quarter-over-quarter increase of 13.7% and a year-on-year increase of 70.0%. HUAWEI's HONOR brand just announced the HONOR 20 series - HONOR 20 and HONOR 20 Pro at an event in London, as it had promised. Both the phones feature a 6.26-inch Full HD+ All-View display with 91.7% screen-to-body-ratio, powered by Kirin 980 with Dual NPU and GPU Turbo 3.0. The HONOR 20 Pro also has a Graphene Cooling Sheet technology for 27% better heat dissipation. These feature Side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a 32-megapixel in-screen front camera. These feature 48-megapixel rear camera with 1/2" Sony IMX586 sensor and 4-in-1 Light Fusion (effective 1.6μm pixels), but the HONOR 20 Pro features f/1.4 aperture lens for the first time in the world that takes 50% more light compared to f/1.8 aperture lens and offers up to 204800 ISO. Samsung launched its flagship smartphones Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10 Plus, and Galaxy S10e earlier this year in India. At the launch, the S10, and S10 Plus were available in Prism White, Black, Green and in Ceramic Black, White colors. Now, fresh reports suggest that Samsung is expected to launch a new Cardinal Red color variant of S10 and S10+ soon. This red color is not similar to the Burgundy Red color that was seen on the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus smartphones. The Burgundy Red had a deeper shade and the new Cardinal Red looks striking and has a slight resemblance to the red colored iPhone XR. Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 7S smartphone with 48MP rear camera yesterday in India as the company's latest addition in the popular Note series lineup. Redmi Note 7S is a rebranded version of Chinese Redmi Note 7 model. Now the company has confirmed that the Note 7S will be replacing Redmi Note 7 in India.
