Android Auto update brings new dark mode, navigation bar, notification center and more

Google launched Android Auto in June 2014 and it received several updates including improved media browser, search, message previews, etc over time. In similar lines today, Google is rolling out a new dark mode for Android auto along with other new features. Google is rolling out the dark theme for Android Auto with new fonts and color accents and according to the company it is designed to make it easier for drivers to more easily see the content on the screen. The new interface is built to help users get on the road faster, show more useful information at a glance and simplify common tasks while driving. Along with a new dark theme, Google is also rolling out a new launcher for Android Auto which will allow users to find and start apps that are compatible with Android Auto. With this new update, Android Auto will turn on automatically once the car is turned on and will continue playing media and show the user's navigation app of choice. Hughes and Airtel to combine VSAT operations in India

Bharti Airtel and Hughes Communications India Ltd. (HCIL), a subsidiary of Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES) today announced an agreement to combine their VSAT operations in India. As per the agreement, Hughes will have majority ownership in the combined entity and Airtel will have a significant shareholding. HCIL is the leading broadband satellite service operator in India. It provides a comprehensive range of broadband networking technologies, solutions, and services for businesses and governments. The combined entity will benefit from enhanced scale, improved operational efficiencies and wider market reach, and will be able to introduce new VSAT and related technologies to deliver a wide range of quality products and service. The combined entity will continue to serve existing Hughes and Airtel customers. The transaction is subject to approvals by relevant authorities. OnePlus 7 with 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, dual rear cameras surface in press image

After the OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7 has surfaced in press shots. This shows the waterdrop notch display, dual rear cameras and the alert slider on the right side, above the power button, similar to the OnePlus 6T. You can also see the small camera bump, and there are antenna bands on the sides of the phone since it has a metal frame. On the glass back, there is OnePlus logo below the flash, and also the OnePlus branding on the bottom part of the back. A recent leak revealed that the phone will come with a 6.4-inch (2340×1080 pixels) AMOLED screen. It will be powered by Snapdragon 855 with 6GB RAM with 128GB storage, 8GB with 256GB storage. It is said to come with 48MP f/1.6 OIS primary camera with Sony IMX586 sensor, 5MP secondary camera, in-display fingerprint scanner and a 3700mAh battery with 20W Dash Charge. Google rolls out May 2019 Android security update for Pixel devices, also available for Essential Phone

Google has started rolling out new over-the-air (OTA) update for Pixel devices and also posted factory images as part of monthly Android Security release. The update for this month doesn't have Pixel-specific patches, but Google says that it brings many functional updates and improvements to various parts of the Android platform and supported Pixel devices. Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 said to come in two variants

Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform last year as a first commercial 5G platform and said that it will enable commercial networks and mobile devices in Early 2019. Today, new reports have emerged suggesting that the upcoming Snapdragon 865 Mobile Platform could be launched later this year, and it could come in two variants. There have been some leaks regarding the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Mobile Plaform, and it is said to carry the code name SM8250 and come with an in-built 5G modem. However, according to a recent tweet from Roland Quandt at WinFuture, we might see a variant of the upcoming Snapdragon 865 sporting an external 5G modem too.
