New OPPO Reno with 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, 32MP front camera, in-display fingerprint scanner gets certified
OPPO launched new Reno series last month, now a new PCDT10 / PCDM10 model with a 32-megapixel front camera has been certified by TENAA in China. This has a 6.4-inch Full HD + AMOLED Dewdrop notch display, 32-megapixel front camera compared to 16-megapixel, different dimensions, and also has a bigger 4000mAh battery compared to 3765mAh battery on the standard edition. It will be powered by a 2.2GHz Octa-Core SoC, which should be the Snapdragon 710, same as the standard edition Reno model. Other specifications including Android 9.0 (Pie) with ColorOS 6.0, in-display fingerprint scanner, 48-megapixel primary rear camera with Sony IMX586 sensor along with a 5-megapixel secondary camera are similar. Blaupunkt BH01 wireless headphones with Bluetooth 5.0 launched in India for Rs.1699
Blaupunkt, the popular Germany-based consumer lifestyle and technology brand announced its entry into the Indian market in October 2016 with the launch of earphones, car charges and other mobile accessories. Today, the company has announced a new affordable wireless headphone named Blaupunkt BH01. The Blaupunkt BH01 is an on-ear wireless headphone and comes with a foldable design for easy storage and to easily slip the headphone in the pocket. The headphone has a good cushioning for the ear cups and the neckband. When it comes to the specifications, the BHo1 comes with a 40mm Large Aperture Driver, Bluetooth 5.0 for connectivity, built-in mic and control buttons and a 300mAh battery which claims to offer 10 hours of playtime on a single charge. Also, it comes with a 3.5mm jack, allowing users for wired use when the battery gets drained. Facebook will shut down Bonfire group video chat app this month
Facebook launched its group video chat app 'Bonfire' in 2017. It was a clone of the group video chat app 'Houseparty' and today, Facebook has announced that it will be shutting down the Bonfire app as it did not receive the interest the company expected. Facebook started testing its group video chat app Bonfire in Denmark and other countries in Europe last year and it was a clone of 'Houseparty' app which was popular at that time. Houseparty had a synchronous group video chat feature where participants would open the app to see who was already online, hanging out digitally. However, the app did not receive the interest that Facebook expected. According to reports, HouseParty app's rank in the App Store declined to #327 a year ago and the app stopped being a threat to Facebook which led to Facebook's decision of shutting down 'Bonfire' now. The group video chat has now become a feature of Facebook's other apps Instagram and Messenger where it is baked into the app itself. Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 7 into space to take some shots and brought it back in functioning condition
Xiaomi has announced that it launched the Redmi Note 7 (Chinese 48MP version) into space and back. It traveled 35,375 meters above sea level, with external temperature of -58°C, internal temperature of 4°C, 1 KPA atmospheric pressure, and it was still working perfectly after it came back, said the company. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3Cz0IERXYM Before the launch it did a lot of simulations, and made a custom 3D printed rig built to withstand temperatures of -60°C. The phone was sent about 30 kilometers in space for a period of 2 hours using hydrogen balloon. For the phone used for taking pictures, the company loaded a software so that it can take pictures automatically at different intervals after the lift. Apple’s 2019 iPhones and iPad Pro models said to come with new antenna technology
It's the time of the year when we see leaks and rumours about the upcoming iPhones and iPad models. In similar lines, today, a new report has emerged that Apple is planning to ditch the liquid crystal polymer (LCP) material used for antennas and adopt a new antenna technology to improve indoor reception on the upcoming iPhones and iPad Pro models. According to fresh reports, it is said that Apple is planning to use the modified-PI (MPI) material/Magnetic particle Inspection for antennas in 2019 iPhones. The newer iPhones are expected to sport a single MPI and LCP unit on top and three MPI antenna assemblies near the bottom of the phone and this new material will replace the existing liquid crystal polymer (LCP) material that is used on the antennas of iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR. The reports say that due to current technological limitations, the liquid crystal polymer limits the RF performance of the iPhone XR, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. Realme X with 6.5-inch full-screen display, pop-up front camera to be announced on May 15
Realme has finally announced that it will introduce its Realme X smartphone in China on May 15th. It got certified by TENAA in China recently with the model number RMX1901. The company will also launch the Realme X Youth Edition (Lite) which should be the RMX1851 that was launched in India as Realme 3 Pro last month. Official teaser video already revealed no-notch display and a pop-up front camera. The phone is rumored to be powered by Snapdragon 855. Early specifications revealed are 6.5-inch no-notch display, which will likely come with Full HD+ resolution, similar to the Realme 3 Pro, dimensions of 161.2×76×9.4mm and a 3680mAh (minimum) battery, probably with VOOC 3.0 fast charging. It will likely run Android 9.0 (Pie) with ColorOS 6.0 on top. The company says that it will reveal new details about the smartphone every day from tomorrow, till May 10th. Today the company has confirmed that it is also HDR10+ certified, providing users with a more dynamic, detailed and vivid viewing experience. Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro gets Android 9.0 Pie-based MIUI 10.3 Global Stable update [Download Link]
Xiaomi launched first quad camera phone Redmi Note 6 Pro in India back in November running MIUI 10 on top of Android 8.1 (Oreo) and last month it started recruiting Beta testers for testing Android Pie based MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM for various devices including Redmi Note 6 Pro. The company started rolling out Android 9.0 (Pie) based MIUI Global Beta ROM back in March. This morning, Xiaomi has started rolling out Android 9.0 (Pie) based MIUI Global Stable ROM to Redmi Note 6 Pro users. As per posts on Mi Community, MIUI 10.3.2.0.PEKMIXM is being rolled out, the update is around 1.7 GB in size as it brings Android 9.0 (Pie) along with April security patch to the device. If you haven’t received the update on your device, you can download the Recovery ROM here and flash it using the recovery method. Vivo has announced a new smartphone in its S-lineup i.e., Vivo S1 Pro. The S1 Pro comes with a 6.39-inch Full HD+ display, is powered by Snapdragon 675 SoC, sports a 32MP pop-up selfie camera, similar to the V15 Pro, and will go on sale in China starting next week. Vivo S1 Pro has 6GB/8GB RAM and comes in two storage options i.e., 128GB and 256GB and can be expanded up to 256GB via MicroSD. The smartphone sports a gradient finish to the rear and has an in-display fingerprint scanner.
