HTC's EXODUS 1 which was announced back in 2018 is now expanding its reach to non-crypto natives, meaning users who wish to buy the phone can now use real money, instead of using cryptocurrency. The Exodus 1 was available for pre-order in October, but users had to pay in crypto: either 0.15 bitcoin or 4.78 Ether. HTC's EXODUS team is releasing the Zion Key Management API to selected partners with a focus on protecting user data ...
Google Play Protect scanned over 50 billion apps everyday in 2018 protecting over 2 billion devices
Google's Play Protect scanned over 50 billion apps every day for harmful behavior in 2018 protecting over 2 billion devices in the Android ecosystem every day. In 2018, the company launched a new feature that notifies users when they are installing new or rare apps. It shows a warning, giving users pause to consider whether they want to trust this app. Once Google has fully analyzed the app and determined that it is not harmful, the notification will no longer display. In 2018, this warning showed around 100,000 times per day. Google recently enabled a security feature first introduced in Android Oreo which warns users when they are about to launch a potentially harmful app on their device. This new warning dialog provides in-context information about the app the user is about to launch, why it think it may be harmful and what might happen if they open the app. In the notification, Google also provides clear guidance on what to do next. These in-context dialogs ensure that users are protected even if they accidentally missed an alert. Back in 2018, the company has added the ability to detect harmful apps that are installed from Play but were later found to have ...

Google Duo finally available on the web
Google has finally launched Duo video calling on the web with supported browsers include Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. The interface is fairly simple; it shows recent contacts listed at the top, full list of all contacts placed below. Google Duo on the web supports browser notifications for incoming calls. While users on other browsers seem to be having issues accessing the Duo for the web, it seems to be perfectly working for Chrome users accessing it via their non-G Suite accounts. To know if Google Duo for the web is working on your account, simply head over to duo.google.com, if you see a new interface, Duo for the web is working for. But, if you’re still seeing the old Duo landing page, you don’t have access to the web client yet. Since Google is yet to formally announce Duo for the web, more details should most probably come our way in the next couple of days. Stay tuned.
