Apple patent hints at AirPods wireless charging case and AirPower
The USA patent and Trademark Office has published a newly granted Apple patent related to an "inductively chargeable earbud case." While the AirPods and AirPowers are not named in the patent, the illustrations clearly show an AirPods-like wireless charging case on an AirPower-like charging mat. Most inductive charging mats require precisely aligning a smartphone or other device with the coils inside the mat for efficient power transfer. However, Apple's patent describes a method that would allow the AirPods case to be placed anywhere on the AirPower. This is just one of the many patents Apple has been grated for an AirPods-like wireless charging case. Apple first previewed the AirPower and optional AirPods wireless charging case at its September 2017 event. While Apple promised that the AirPower would go on sale in 2018, but nothing happened. A report from 2018 suggested that Apple faced technical difficulties with the AirPower that likely caused the delay. The more latest report claim that Apple has since overcome those issues and instructed its suppliers to begin mass production of the AirPower, with several rumors hinting at an imminent release. Though Apple is holding a special event at Steve Jobs Theatre on March 25th, Apple is widely expected to announce its subscription-based news By the sounds of it, there may be few to ...

Google schedules event on March 19 at GDC 2019, gaming project announcement expected
Google is hosting a keynote at this years GDC (Game Developers Conference) that promises to reveal all. While Google has been a part of the GDC and hosting events since 2010, this is the first time the company is holding a keynote. It’s unclear what the keynote is about. Going back in time, back in 2018, we've heard rumors about Google working on a subscription-based game streaming service that would work with its existing hardware or a Google-designed gaming console. The project is codenamed 'Yeti'. Google, back in October 2018, announced Project Stream, a gaming streaming service with a technical test of “Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.” Currently, Google is said to be tackling issues that may arise from streaming service such as buffering and graphical degradation. These are issues that currently make streaming games frustrating. Apart from March 19, 10 AM PT (11:30 PM IST) keynote, Google is hosting two themed days of sessions at GDC. Source
How to uninstall apps on Xiaomi devices without root
OEMs pre-load phones with apps to improve user experience, but not all the pre-loaded apps and features are important to all users or some users have their own preferred app for a particular task, for example, most of the users prefer Google Calendar and Keep Notes over Custom Calendar and Notes apps that come pre-installed with the device. If you use a phone running a forked version of Android like MIUI or EMUI, you must have found some apps unnecessary at some point in time. Presence of these unwanted apps don’t only annoy users but also consume system memory and drain the battery. Earlier we shared a workaround with our readers to disable some apps, but since there are many users who do not mind little tinkering with their devices, we are writing this post to share a workaround for uninstalling such apps on Xiaomi devices. Follow this guide to uninstall the apps to get rid of advertisements, Open Settings app and go to About phone and tap on MIUI version seven times until you see the message 'You are now a developer'. [gallery columns="2" size="large" ids="275580,275581"] Go to Additional Settings, followed by Developer options and turn on USB debugging.[gallery columns="2" size="large" ids="275582,275583,275584,275585"] Turn ...
Razer Phone 2 Android Pie update to roll out from February 27th; Razer lays off 2% workforce
Razer has announced that it will roll out Android Pie update to the Razer Phone 2 starting from next week. Since Razer keeps its UI close to stock, the Pie software too is pretty close what you’d find on Pixel phones. It brings gestures and they are enabled by default. However, Razer’s launcher doesn’t support the suggested apps or a long-swipe to get to the app drawer. The multitasking screen fades in rather than sliding in as it does on the Pixel. The settings menu has also been redesigned, all the icons are now Material Design complaint and the hierarchy of items has changed entirely. The company claims that it also brings improvements to Android Runtime, which will result in some RAM management and better optimization. Despite the presence of gestures, the back button is always present. Typically, this gesture navigation system leaves the back button only in place when needed. The Pie update brings the latest February security patch. The Android Pie update will hit the unlocked devices starting on February 27th. Devices on Carriers will see the same update from March 14th. AT&T estimates to roll out the Pie update to devices on its carriers starting on April 4th. In another ...

10 years since the first Galaxy – Can Samsung stay at the top?
"Samsung Galaxy" is undoubtedly one of the most well-known brands in the world of smartphones. This series began as an answer to the iPhone with Samsung's motivation to offer a valid alternative. Since then, Samsung has become one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers globally. Tomorrow's launch will be its biggest milestone in the celebration of the Korean conglomerate's 10th anniversary of the Galaxy S smartphone to be unveiled ahead of Mobile World Congress 2019 (MWC) tomorrow. In anticipation, let's take a pause to look at what made Samsung's brand "Galaxy" so famous. It's funny that Samsung has now become one of the few handset makers that offers a ton of value without compromising on the quality, because it was absolutely the opposite before. Over the years, the company has faced both massive successes and blows, but still stayed on top. But the previous couple of years have been tough with the market evolving in interesting ways. Attention has shifted to India and Samsung finds itself a bit late. Better than never. Even though Samsung undercuts the rivals like Apple and Google in the premium smartphone category, it has been a herculean task for the company down in the trenches to reclaim the ...
