MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM brings Dark Mode to some system apps
Colors displayed on the screen affect the power consumption of the display and this is where dark mode helps on AMOLED devices. In last few months, Google gradually rolled out dark mode for some system apps including Phone, Contacts, Messages and as per some reports, Google is all set to introduce the system-wide dark mode with Android Q. Dark mode doesn't help in saving much battery on the budget devices as budget devices lack AMOLED panels, but some users still prefer it. [gallery link="file" size="large" ids="275164,275147,275162"] Xiaomi's MIUI is best known for the customizations it offers but it also doesn't offer system-wide dark theme, dark themes can be downloaded from theme store but I am yet to find a fully functional, bugfree, polished dark theme despite trying many dark themes but it may change soon as Xiaomi's latest MIUI 10 Global Beta update brings dark theme to many system apps including Phone, Contacts, Messaging, Gallery, Calculator, Notes, Screen Recorder, and Updater. [gallery link="file" size="large" ids="275161,275160,275158"] The update also brings dark mode to Notification shade, Volume sliders, and Recents menu. LG G8 ThinQ with 3D ToF front camera, dual-rear cameras, 3.5mm headphone jack surfaces in new render
LG will introduce the G8 ThinQ smartphone at the MWC 2019 event which is expected to kick-start in a couple of weeks. So far, we have heard reports and rumors about the flagship, but haven't seen the device in live. To fill that void, the render of the G8 has now surfaced the internet, courtesy of popular leakster Evan Blass. Unlike the trip rear camera setup, as seen on few LG flagships in 2018, the G8 has dual-rear cameras which is surprising considering most flagships including the Galaxy S10 are coming with triple sensors on the back. Beneath the rear camera setup, there is a physical fingerprint sensor and not an in-display sensor like most smartphones coming out these days. What's good is that there is a 3.5mm audio jack at the bottom, and it will likely come with Quad DAC. On the front, there is a notch to accompany the selfie-shooter and a sizeable chin at the bottom. LG has also confirmed that it would launch a variant of G8 ThinQ with a time-of-flight 3D depth camera so you can unlock it with your face. Given the reliable track record of Evan Blass, the design of the G8 should be legit and have ...
Sony Xperia XA3 Plus with 6.5-inch 21:9 CinemaWide display, dual rear cameras surface in renders
Sony at the MWC 2019 is expected to introduce quite a number of smartphones with an unusual 21: 9 format display design. One among the smartphone is the Xperia "XA3" whose renders have surfaced the internet. As reported earlier, the XA3 comes in two variants; XA3 and XA3 Plus. Visually, the devices are hardly distinguishable, apart from the size. The Sony Xperia "XA3" Plus will come with a 6.5-inch display, while the smaller model with 5.9 inches with enormous dimensions, especially since the displays 21:9 aspect ratio. However, the display sizes are from various sources, so it is not confirmed yet. The new 21:9 aspect ratio sets itself apart from the current design trend in the smartphone market, which usually brings a "notch" or a hole for the front camera. The new aspect ratio will bring slightly wider bezel at the top, and at the bottom, there is practically no bezel. As for the technical details, it will have a Full HD 1080p display, dual rear-camera setup along with dual LED flash. The fingerprint sensor is present on the side between the volume rocker and the power button. As reported earlier, the back panel is still plastic and will be available in various colors. At the bottom, it ...
