Samsung patent hints at Galaxy Note S Pen camera functionality with optical system

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office published a patent for Samsung Electronics hinting at the company's brand new plans for the S Pen. This patent focuses on the S Pen doubling as a camera that could provide users with a vastly superior optical zooming system in contrast to the digital zoom. The patent further notes that in general, smartphones are used more for taking photos and an "optical zooming" function provides superior quality. However, thanks to their thin designs, smartphones are restricted to digital zoom. To get around this problem, Samsung's newly granted patent illustrates that the company might be considering adding a camera with an optical zoom inside a future Note Smartphone S Pen. Since Samsung started innovating the S Pen thanks to the newly added button that allows users to click on to take photos with their phone and control a slide presentation, it seems that the Samsung's granted patent is likely giving us a peek at what to expect of the next-gen S Pen. The camera lens is fit into the upper chamber of the S Pen and a control key that could control the zooming feature. More specifically, Samsung's new optical system may include at least one lens or maybe even more. The ...

Facebook Messenger ‘Unsend’ feature now available for everyone

Facebook Messenger finally gets 'delete message' feature months after promising the rollout. You can easily remove your sent message on Messenger – whether it’s to one person or a group, similar to that on WhatsApp. Simply tap on the message you want to remove and select the option to “Remove for Everyone”. The removed message will be replaced by text alerting everyone in the conversation the message was removed. You will have up to 10 minutes to remove a message after it is sent. The company initially rolled out the feature in selected markets, but the company is now pushing it globally to everyone. Going back in time, Facebook confirmed that it is working on bringing ‘Unsend’ feature to everyone after CEO Mark Zuckerberg unsent messages. If you want to remove a message just for yourself, you can still do that anytime by selecting “Remove for You”. When you choose this option, the message will be removed for you, but not for anybody else in the chat. Facebook brings the ability to let you remove any kind of message including text, group chats, photos, videos, links and more within 10 minutes of sending. The Remove feature is now available for Android and iOS. Source

Samsung Galaxy Sport with Bixby reminders, brand new design surfaces in renders

Samsung's Unpacked event is right around the corner, and naturally, more and more leaks started surfacing the internet. While the flagship S10 is quite obvious, the company has also been working on the next Galaxy Sport watch which might be announced alongside the flagship. In-line with the previous render, the new leak showcases the Galaxy Gear Successor in three color variants; black, teal blue and pink gold. The Galaxy Sport has been in the news for quite some time and carried the codename ‘Pulse' when it was spotted on the certification websites earlier this year. Though it is believed that Samsung would be adding an ECG feature to rival Apple Watch Series 4, the feature looks to be missing as the render only shows beats per minute from the standard heart rate monitor. Another design change would be the removal of the rotating bezel which was a key design element of the Gear Watch. Tizen OS will be controlled by the two recessed side buttons on the watches metal case. This also suggests that we will see some updates to the Tizen OS to bring in more integration with the new controls. The new Galaxy Sport said to feature the Bixby Reminders, pack 4GB of ...
